Under the direction of Rev. Jake Byrnes, ignite youth (between the ages of 13 and 18) meet at New Life Assembly of God every sunday night from 6:00 – 8:30pm for a time of fellowship, and spiritual growth. A typical Sunday night Youth Service consists of fellowship, worship, and a message from God’s Word. All this is provided in order to give each teenager who comes an opportunity to get to know Jesus better. Aside from the regularly scheduled Sunday night meetings, group events are also held throughout the year. Concerts, conventions, camps, and retreats are just a few of the events that fill the calendar. Ultimately, the goal of this ministry is threefold. First, we aim to inspire each teen to walk closer with Jesus by establishing Biblical standards in their lives and refusing to accept what the world has to offer. Daily prayer & Bible reading is strongly urged, while we emphasize to each teenager the importance of knowing what God’s will is for their life today, as well as in the future. Secondly, we encourage each teenager to establish Godly relationships with other Christian teens. While it’s getting more and more difficult for High School students to live according to God’s Word, we believe that each student can benefit from the support and encouragement that comes with having Christian friends. Our Sunday night services provide students with a place where they can share in each others struggles and pray for one another as well. Lastly, we direct our students to do their part in the Great Commission by reaching their friends for Christ. It is our desire to see our teens share with other students the hope and purpose that comes with having a relationship with Jesus Christ.
