It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Jane Polz, who passed away on September 9,2024 at the age of 69 after a short battle with Cancer.

Born on July 26, 1955 in Minneapolis, she grew up in Minneapolis and attended Richfield Elementary and then the family later moved to Windom, MN. Jane was received into the Christian faith through baptism and confirmed at Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd. She received her education and graduated from Windom Area High School in 1973. She then attended and graduated from the Medical Institute of Minneapolis.

On June 18, 1977 Jane was united in marriage to James W. Polz in Windom, MN. After their marriage Jim and Jane moved to Barron, WI where she worked at Barron Community Memorial Hospital as a Certified Lab Assistant. In 1987, they moved back to Windom where Jane was employed at the Windom Area Hospital as a CLT (HEW) Medical Technologist Laboratory Manager until her retirement in 2021.

Jane was a dedicated and loving wife to her husband Jim, and a devoted mother to her two son’s Lucas and Nathan. Jane lived a fulfilling life and was a woman of many talents. She had a deep passion for God, her church and volunteering for so many organizations in the area. Jane served as a Board Member for the following organizations or colleges: ARC, MN West, Racial Injustice, Rasmussen College, Windom Health Auxiliary, and was a Sr. Warden for the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd. One of her greatest joys in life was learning more about her Native American background as a member of the Chippewa tribe and also her love to visit casinos! She enjoyed playing Candy Crush and reading to Nathan in her free time and being a “mom”.

Jane was a kind and generous soul, always putting other's needs before her own. Her love and compassion extended to all those who knew her, and she will be remembered for her infectious smile and warm personality.

She is survived by her husband Jim, sons Lucas and Nathan and her Brother Todd Welton.
Cousins; Kent Estey, Rebecca Estey, Cindy Amundson, Karen Walz, Pamela Snetsinger and Sue Amundson, Richard Welton, Gary Welton who will miss her dearly.
Sister-in-laws, Pat Cole, Mary (Walter) Baumann, Norma (Craig) Kolander, Brothers-in-law

“I do not understand my own actions. For I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate.” “For I delight in the law of God in my inmost self, but I see in my members another law at war with the law of my mind, making me captive to the law of sin that dwells in my members. Wretched man that I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death?”
We will be talking about these most insightful scriptures tomorrow at the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Windom, MN. Everyone is welcome. ❤️
