What happens inside you when your child asks a question about God—and you suddenly freeze?

Your child may be asking something simple, but your body remembers years of being taught that questions were dangerous and wrong answers had consequences.

You do not need perfect answers. You can say, “That’s a really good question. What do you think?” You can admit, “I don’t know.” What matters most is showing your child that questions are safe in your home.

A safe church will not pressure you to move faster than healing allows. It will make room for your questions, your boundaries, and your need to watch for a while.
