Hello, Church Family!
Here is a health update regarding the spreading of COVID-19, or Coronavirus. While we never want to operate out of a spirit of fear, as we know that is not from the Lord (2 Timothy 1:17), we want to assure you that we are taking the upmost precautions to keep you and your family safe. Services for Sunday, March 15, 2020, are proceeding as normal, and we will update you immediately if anything changes. Please continue to check our website and social media platforms as the situation continues to evolve. During this time, our highest priority is to keep you, our church family, and the community, safe. At this time, we are taking a number of precautions with our facilities & procedures in an effort to be proactive.
HERE ARE SOME CHANGES YOU WILL SEE
When you walk in—
• Hand sanitizer will be placed in strategic areas around the church, focusing mainly at the entrances to our facilities.
• To minimize contact, coffee will be served to you rather than being a self-serve station. Those serving coffee will be properly sanitized and wearing gloves.
During Service—
• Bulletins will be available for pick up on a table at the entrance to the sanctuary.
• We ask that you greet each other with a smile & wave, rather than shaking hands.
• We will not pass the offering plates. This is a great opportunity to see how easy online giving is! or, if you prefer to give via cash or check, simply place your offering in one of the offering plates located near the back of the Sanctuary.
• Pens will be removed from the chair backs in front of you, so please bring your own if you wish to take notes!
Facilities—
• Our facilities team takes great pride in keeping our church home clean. Throughout the morning, we will cautiously clean and sanitize high touch areas, such as door handles, tables and railings.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
As always, we ask that you use your own discretion. If you are experiencing flu-like symptoms, please stay home and consult your doctor immediately. If you are sick or feel at risk, we invite you to join us for the SERMON ONLINE!
• Wash your hands with anti-bacterial soap and warm water, frequently. Per the CDC, wash for at least 20 seconds. *(Note: It takes about 25-30 seconds to quote the Lord’s Prayer!) Do it!
• Regularly disinfect frequently used objects such as, cell phones, tv remotes, headphones, doorknobs, keys, etc.
CHURCH ONLINE
Again, if you’re sick, or have been around someone who is ill, we encourage you to join us through our online services.
• Join our SERMON ONLINE during regular service times.
• Host a watch party on Facebook at Facebook.com/ WinderWesleyanChurch and participate in the live chat in the comments.
WHAT WE KNOW
According to the Center for Disease Control, the Coronavirus is a respiratory disease that has been spreading globally since the end of 2019. There have been several confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Georgia. As of today, there are no known cases in Barrow
County. We encourage all individuals to continue to monitor the
CDC and its suggestions for prevention of the spread of Coronavirus. To learn more, visit the CDC Website.
OUR HOPE
During this time, we ask that you join us in prayer for our community, our country, and the world. Please pray for our leaders, as they make informed decisions regarding the well-being of the people. Pray for our doctors and nurses who are at the forefront, caring for patients. We know that all things work together for the good of those who love Him. We may not understand why this has spread the way it has, but we are confident that the Lord has a plan. Our trust is in Him alone! May we always be a church who operates out of faith in the King of Kings!
Sincerely,
Pastor Greg
