54 & More is back this month!

As we continue reflecting on the celebration of 190 years of Winder First United Methodist Church, we’re honored to share this special conversation with our church historian, Ray Butch Kennedy.

A member of Winder First for nearly 65 years, Butch shares memories of growing up in the church, its move from downtown Winder to our current campus, the people and ministries that shaped it along the way, and the faith and love for community that have remained constant through the generations.

“My whole life has been spent here, and I hope the rest of it will be.”

Thank you, Butch, for helping us remember where we’ve been as we look with hope toward the years ahead.

Homecoming Sunday is almost here!

As we make our final preparations for this Sunday’s 190th Anniversary Homecoming celebration, we’re sharing Rev. Dr. Geoff Murphy’s video once again with important instructions for the day.

A few key reminders:

- Please drop off all covered dishes by 10:45 AM in the Small Dining Room of the Fellowship Hall.

- Our special Homecoming worship service begins promptly at 11:00 AM and will run a little longer than a typical Sunday service.

- Following worship, please listen for instructions on how we will exit the sanctuary and make our way to the Fellowship Hall for lunch.

- Accessible entry to the Fellowship Hall will be available for those who need it.

If you’re joining us Sunday, please take a few minutes to watch Geoff’s video so we can help everything run as smoothly as possible.

Join us on Sunday, August 30, as we celebrate 190 years of Winder First United Methodist Church and God’s faithfulness through the generations.

8:45 AM – Communion
11:00 AM – Special Homecoming Worship Service
12:00 PM – Lunch & Fellowship

Whether you’re a longtime member, former member, friend, neighbor, or joining us for the first time, you are invited to be part of this special day.

Homecoming Sunday is almost here!

As we prepare to celebrate 190 years of Winder First United Methodist Church this Sunday, August 30, Rev. Dr. Geoff Murphy has a few important instructions to help our special day run smoothly.

If you’re attending Homecoming, please take a few minutes to watch this video before Sunday, especially if you are bringing a covered dish or joining us for lunch following the 11:00 AM service.

A few important reminders:

* Covered dishes should be dropped off in the Small Dining Room of the Fellowship Hall no later than 10:45 AM Sunday.
* Following worship, please follow the instructions given during the service for exiting the sanctuary and making your way to the Fellowship Hall.
* Accessible entry to the Fellowship Hall will be available for those who need it.

Join us this Sunday, August 30, as we celebrate 190 years of Winder First United Methodist Church and give thanks for God's faithfulness through the generations!
