This week’s spiritual practice is simple, but it gets right to the heart of discipleship:

“Come, Holy Spirit, and make me more like Jesus.”

Each morning and evening this week, pray that prayer and then slowly work through these four movements:

NOTICE
“Jesus, what am I not seeing?”
Ask Him to show you what you’ve overlooked—in your circumstances, in the people around you, and in your own heart.

SURRENDER
“Jesus, I give You control.”
Release the outcome. Release the need to have everything figured out. Place your plans, fears, expectations, and desires back into His hands.

RECEIVE
“Jesus, remind me who I am in You.”
Before you are what you accomplish, what others think of you, or even what you think of yourself—you belong to Jesus. Let His grace speak louder than everything else.

RESPOND
“Jesus, what is the next faithful thing You want me to do?”
Then listen. And when He shows you the next step, take it.

The goal of following Jesus isn’t simply to know more about Him.

🍂 Fall is almost here, and September at Mosaic is packed with opportunities to worship, serve our community, and spend time together!

We’ve got some exciting things happening this month—including a new Sunday service time and the return of Pathfinders & Trekkers. Mark your calendars!

Coming up in September:

🎻 Fiddles & Fifths Festival
September 12 | 1–7PM
As thousands of people gather in Old Town, we’ll open our building to serve festival attendees. Building hosts are needed—sign up for a Go Time opportunity and help us love our neighbors well!

⏰ New Service Time
September 13 | 10AM
New time, same Mosaic family! Beginning September 13, our Sunday gathering moves to 10AM. We can’t wait to worship with you!

🧭 Pathfinders & Trekkers Return
September 13 | 8:45AM & 9AM
Our kids and teens groups are back for the fall! Pathfinders and Trekkers will restart at their new times for Fall/Winter 2026.

September 19 | 12–4PM
We’ll once again open our building to serve our community during Celebración Wi******er. Building hosts are needed, so sign up for a Go Time opportunity and come help us welcome our neighbors!

🔥 Men’s Fall Fire Pit Night
September 26 | 6–8PM
Guys, come hang out for a relaxed fall evening at Bo Murphy’s house. Bring your favorite drinks and snacks, grab a camp chair, and enjoy some time around the fire with brothers.

What if the interruption isn’t just an interruption?

What if the unexpected conversation, the change of plans, the person who needs your attention, or the moment you didn’t see coming is actually a place where God is already at work?

This week’s spiritual practice is the Availability Prayer.

Every morning, begin your day by praying:

“Jesus, I am available to You today.
Send me where You want me to go.
Interrupt my plans if You want to.
Give me eyes to see what You are doing.
Give me courage to respond.
And give me grace to be faithful.”

Then go about your day with your eyes open.
And when something unexpected happens, S.T.O.P. 🛑

S — STOP
Don’t immediately react. Take a breath. Become aware of God’s presence.

T — TAKE NOTICE
Ask: What is happening here? What is happening inside me?
Before deciding what the moment means, actually pay attention to it.

O — OPEN YOURSELF TO GOD
Pray: “Jesus, are You inviting me into something?”
Maybe the interruption is inconvenient. Maybe it wasn’t on your schedule. But it might be an invitation.

P — PROCEED FAITHFULLY
Take the next obedient step.

You don’t need to know exactly where everything is going. You don’t need the whole plan before you say yes.

You just need enough trust to take the next step.

So this week, let’s begin our mornings with open hands:

Jesus, I am available to You today.

And then let’s pay attention. Because the Holy Spirit may be doing something right in the middle of the moment we were tempted to rush past.

Save this post and use it as your prayer each morning this week. And when the unexpected happens… S.T.O.P.
