Evening Co-Ed Community Bible Study will not be meeting tonight due to sickness and incoming weather. We will resume with Lesson 15 on January 8. exploring Royal Psalms that set the ideals for Israel’s king and point to the King of Kings who is to come. We at Community Bible Study are grateful to celebrate the coming of that King in this season and wish you all a joyous Christmas. We look forward to coming back together with you in the new year! In Lesson 14 we explored Psalms that point most clearly to Jesus, Israel’s long awaited Messiah. In the teaching, we were reminded that Jesus is the center of it all and all scripture points to Him. We are finishing the semester this week with Royal Psalms that set the ideals for Israel’s king. In this portion of the study, we discover that these Psalms are pointing to the King of Kings who is to come.

In Lesson 13 we explored Psalms that address when we feel overwhelmed and forgotten by God. In the teaching, we were reminded that God is the Light in the darkness. As we move into Lesson 14, we will study some of the Psalms that point most clearly to Jesus, Israel’s long awaited Messiah.

In Lesson 12 we explored the longest Psalm in the Bible. In the teaching, we were reminded that God’s Word has power. As we move into Lesson 13, we will dig into Psalms that show us how we can pray when life feels disappointing and God feels silent.

Several of our members in both the morning and evening CBS groups are participating in the Wi******er Chorale Christmas Concert this weekend at Central Baptist Church. There are two chances to experience the wonderful music and get into the Christmas spirit—Friday, December 5th at 7:00 pm and Sunday, December 7th at 2:30 pm. Come out and support our CBS and Wi******er community members and enjoy the beautiful melodies of Christmas. It’s going to be a fantastic time, and you definitely won’t want to miss it! 🎄

It’s National Christmas light day! What better time to remember the Light of the World that brings hope to the darkness. The people walking in darkness have seen a great light!

This is the beauty of the Advent season - it seems to acknowledge the whole human experience, and to faithfully hold our realities in light of the fact that dawn/hope does in fact come! And that hope will not move about in some spiritual/ideological realm, but will be *with us* in every real way. The longing is real, the joy is real.

In Lesson 11 we explored Psalms that show us that God knows us. In the teaching, we were reminded that God is our Creator, Lifegiver, and the Revealer of our hearts - and He already knows. As we move into Lesson 12, we will dig into Psalm 119 - the longest chapter in scripture.
