Genée Johns-Morrison is an adoring mother of two, a worship leader, and a Sunday School curriculum writer. She enjoys rock climbing, biking, and experimenting in the kitchen, though most of her time is spent playing in the creek, taking her littles on stroller rides, and reading lots of children’s books. Genée lives at Aldersgate Camp with her husband Zane, her two kids, and their Great Pyrenees, Oak.

🌲 Adventure UMC is heading to the Red River Gorge! 🌲

Beginning Sunday, August 9, Adventure UMC is moving to the Red River Gorge! For our first gathering, we’ll meet at 6:00 PM at Picnic Shelter 3, in the picnic area directly across from Whittleton Campground.

We’re excited to begin this new season of worship surrounded by the beauty of the Gorge. Come as you are, bring a friend, and join us as we worship God together in the wild!

Please note: We will not meet today, August 2. We’ll see you at the Gorge next Sunday!

Well… the weather has other plans. 🌧️

We’re going to cancel tomorrow’s Adventure UMC at Lake Carnico. With the forecast calling for rain and the potential for flooding, it’s just not worth the risk.

We’ll work on picking a new date and let everyone know as soon as we can.

We’ll still gather for worship this Sunday at 6:00 PM at Aldersgate Camp, instead. We’d love to see you there!

This Sunday, June 7, Adventure UMC begins weekly worship at Aldersgate Camp & Retreat Center!

Join us at 6:00 PM around the campfire ring between the chapel and the cottages for an evening of worship, community, and time in God's creation.

Whether you've been with us from the beginning or have never attended an Adventure UMC gathering before, we'd love to have you join us.

Due to the expectation of bad weather, we’re going to cancel Saturday’s Adventure UMC Work Day at Aldersgate. We were looking forward to getting some good work done together, but sometimes wisdom means not fighting the forecast.

BUT… stay tuned.

We’ve got a HUGE Adventure UMC announcement coming this weekend, and trust me, you’re going to want to see it.

This Sunday, May 3rd, we’ll gather for our First Sunday Fellowship Meal at First Fire-Trinity at 12:30 PM.

As we head into summer, we’re keeping things simple and fun with hotdogs. We’d love for you to bring a side to share.

This is always a great chance to spend time together, connect across our congregations, and enjoy good food and conversation. Whether you’ve been coming for years or you’re newer, there’s a place for you at the table.
