Pray you are enjoying your Labor Day. Our message for Sunday, Sept 13th is the first of a 3 part series. Our message this week is titled "Children of God" and comes from 1 John 3: 1-2
In these days, believers often talk together about the state of world and the Second Coming of Christ. As the world becomes even more evil, we must wonder if now is not the right time for Christ to come in the clouds. Invariably, at some point in our conversation, someone will say, "The Lord must be coming back soon. It certainly can't be much longer." We live in a time when moral evil is growing at a seemingly unprecedented pace.
People and churches vary in their eschatological views. As long as they remain within the bounds of Scripture and do not assume cultic dimensions, we have no right to make such views a test of Christian fellowship. But on this much Scripture is clear and all true believers must agree: Jesus Christ will come again, visibly and bodily, to culminate the redemption of the long line of believers that began with our first parents and will end with the last soul who repents of sin and receives the gift of saving faith in Him.
My parents and grandparents thought He must certainly return during their lifetime. Many Christians in our generation think the Lord must certainly return during our days. But it may well be, to paraphrase Genesis 15:16, that the iniquity of the Muslim world - and Russia - and China -and Iran - and post-Christian America - is "not yet complete" and has generations yet to run its course before God steps in.

Brand new month! We welcome September with a message titled "Labor for Who?" based on Proverbs 16: 3 and Colossians 3: 23.
Labor Day 2026 occurs on Monday, September 7. The holiday pays tribute to the contributions and achievements of American workers and is observed each year on the first Monday of September. It was created by the labor movement in the late 19th century and became a federal holiday in 1894. Labor Day weekend also symbolizes the end of summer for many Americans and is celebrated with parties, cookouts, parades and athletic events. Labor Day is a national holiday but is NOT a religious or patriotic holiday. So, why do we bother to speak of it in church?
The entire passage for our work life is one of Paul’s longer deliveries. Its length may well be due to long talks which Paul had with the runaway slave, Onesimus, whom later he was to send back to his master Philemon that we read of in the letter to Philemon, the one epistle written to a single individual, but then share as a circular letter to all the church.
For ancient Christian slaves and for modern Christian workers, there is no guarantee on earth of fairness of treatment from those whom they work for. Sometimes partiality means that bad workers are unfairly rewarded and good employees are penalized or left unrewarded. Paul assures both our ancient brethren and us that there is a final rewarding and punishment, and with this there is no partiality.

All schools back in session! Sorry kids, but make the most of it. Our message for Sunday is titled "Not One Jot or Tittle" is based on Hebrews 4: 11-13. Today we conclude our mini-series on the Word of God and what it should mean for us. We often take this simple phrase with too little thought and our salvation demands we pay close attention to it. There is so much more that can be said about this topic, but I pray that we will al have become more aware of placing full trust in the knowledge that God’s Word is of the utmost importance in life.
How does the supernatural character of the Word of God apply to our witness, both as individual Christians and in the church as the church? The essence of the answer is this: Because of the supernatural character of the Word of God- because it is alive, powerful, incisive, and the infallible judge of the heart of man – our witness must rely upon the power of the only supernatural Book.
As we conclude this series, keep close to your hearts that which you have heard. God’s Word is the basis of life and of our salvation. Beware of the many false interpretations where God’s Word has been altered, beware of the many teachers and leaders who depend on false understanding of God’s Word that has been corrupted over time to serve a far different purpose than that which God intended.

Schools are starting and Pumpkin Spice is starting to show up in the store, so Fall must be on the way. Our message this week is titled "Standard for Judgment" and is based on Hebrews 4: 11-13.
We continue this week with our discussion on just what the Word of God really is. We often speak of “the Word of God” but do we really understand just how important our grasp of its meaning is for us and our salvation. Last week, we had our introduction and ended with the statement that the Word of God is living, alive and active in today’s world. We begin today with the fact that the Word of God is powerful.
The word "powerful" in Hebrews 4:12 speaks of the effectual, living, supernatural power of Scripture to save souls, sanctify the saved - and to condemn those who refuse to believe. Today we come to a third question: What does Hebrews 4:12 mean when it declares that the Word of God is "powerful"? The word in the original language is the root word from which we derive our English words "energy" and "energetic". It speaks of the fact that the Word of God has active power.
We will all, one day, face judgment. Will God use the standards of the world in making judgment? Will God evaluate your feelings and ignore your evil thoughts and deeds? Will God look to philosophy or worldly law books for guidance? What we all must understand right now is that the Word of God is the Standard for Judgment as far as the determination of your final destination.

Worship with God's people this Sunday! Fin a solid church that truly believes in "the Word of God". We meet every Sunday at 11:00 am at our new location of 731 Fox Drive, Wi******er. We are in need of a disciple pianist. For more information, go to www. crpchurch.com.

Summer is winding down and schools are beginning to open for the fall(?) session. The next 3 Sundays will be a mini-series that should help us more fully understand just what we mean we say “the Word of God”. Our passage from Hebrews is a good foundational statement, but is not the only one, which we will touch on as we go through. I will be relying on a series by Dr. Paul Eliott from Teaching the Word Ministries.

In writing and preaching, we increasingly refer to the "supernatural character" of Scripture rather than only using the term "inspiration". The reasons have to do with the naturalistic mindset that many pastors and Bible scholars are communicating to the church. In the post-evangelical church, most pastors and seminary professors have lost any grasp they may have had of Scripture as the only supernatural Book. Because the supernatural character of God's Word is at the core of authentic Christianity.
This will be based on Hebrews 4: 11-13 and is titled "The Word of God".
Now, the writer to the Hebrews describes Scripture as "the Word of God." We find this phrase over
fifty times in the New Testament, and the equivalent phrase "the Word of the Lord" over 275
times in the Old Testament. In the original language of the New Testament, the term is "the logos of God". The Greek word logos is a very significant one. The phrase that is here translated "the Word of God" First of all, the word logos signifies the fact that the Word of God is revelation from God. It does not have its origin in the mind of man. It is not what man decided is true or not true. It is revelation given by inspiration of the Holy Spirit.
The Bible is absolutely unique. It is almighty God speaking directly to man. Every other book in this world is the word of sinful man promoting his conflicting opinions. But the words of the Bible are the very words of the God of Heaven. Holy Scripture is a supernatural book from beginning to end - and it is the only supernatural Book.

Sorry to be so late in getting this posted. Had to visit a granddaughter. Our message is from Acts 1: 6-11 and titled "To the Ends of the Earth". It will be brought by our special guests, Marshal and Sarah York who are missionaries through an organization called JAARS who cover the last mile of missions using special-purpose aircraft, boats and off-road vehicles—relaying God’s Word, His missionaries and vital supplies across age-old geographical barriers. They will be visiting to bring us a word about missions in a very difficult part of the world. this should be a very interesting message considering the state of the world today.

July is nearly gone and I've yet to do so many things I had planned. Our message for Aug 2nd is titled "In Opposition to Christ" and the scripture is Acts 2: 44-45.
We live in a world of deception and false ideas and this is most evident in politics. Satan is attempting to turn us all away from God and also to destroy all of the goodness in God’s creation. We must be on our guard! This nation has faced many attempts to destroy what God gave us 250 years ago and there are 2 today that we must face. First, is the invasion of Islam that will utterly destroy all civilization, IF we allow it. The second is the socialism / communism rhetoric we see greatly growing among people who do not know God. This is the topic of today’s message and the consequences of our ignoring what is going on.
Modern discussions often blur the lines between compassion and coercion, charity and compulsion. Many well-meaning Christians have been drawn to socialist and communist ideals, thinking they align with Christ’s concern for the poor and the call to bear one another’s burdens. But when we strip away slogans and examine core principles, socialism and communism stand in stark opposition to the heart of the Christian worldview.
There is but one way to the best interest of humanity and that is through God’s plan for humanity. All the self-imagined philosophies of man will fail.

Finally! A little rain! Today, we will be continuing along the line of AI, but really nothing about AI. We will be looking more at what God demands of humanity in life. Last week we closed with a brief look at the Tower of Babel and how early people attempted to reach up to God, not to worship God, but because they felt they were so smart and resourceful that they deserved equal footing with God. Our scripture is Genesis 3: 4-5 and our message is titled "Likeness of God!"
When Satan tempts Eve, about how pleasant the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil’s fruit appears, she must agree, BUT she repeats God’ Word correctly. IF she eats of it she will die. Now we must observe how Satan twists words and the meaning of words to create the lie out of apparent truth. This is how Satan works to deceive us in all things.
AI is here and we must correctly utilize what is available but to always do so in light of God’s will for humanity rather than Satan’s. We achieve this by growing in our personal understand of God through disciplined Bible reading and study, through regular prayer and communion with God. Our fallen, evil human nature drives us to aspire to be a god or even god himself, but we were not created to become like a god but to worship the true God in all we do.

Summer on full blast! This Sunday we will have a special message for the times about AI. The title of the message is "How to Do and Think!" and comes from Genesis 1: 26-27 and Isaiah 40: 18, among others. The world today is abuzz with the thought of AI, artificial intelligence. Locally, we have a great disturbance with the possibility of Data Centers being built and the problems they bring. We will not be addressing data centers in any depth, but will focus on the AI and what it means to the believer. What is AI? Artificial Intelligence (AI) refers to the development of computer systems capable of performing tasks that typically require human intelligence. These tasks include reasoning, learning, problem-solving, perception, and language understanding. AI systems can process vast amounts of data, identify patterns, and make decisions based on the collected information.

What should be obvious is that AI requires enormous amounts of data collection and storage, hence data centers in a massive size and number. It also requires speed, to analyze vast amounts of data quickly, computers must search, find and evaluate massive amounts of data.

In the church, Artificial Intelligence is different. The printing press multiplied books. The automobile expanded mobility. Television reshaped entertainment. The internet democratized information. Artificial intelligence reaches beyond what people do into how people think. We no longer ask machines merely to calculate faster or retrieve information. We now ask them to judge, to create, and to decide — work that once belonged exclusively to human beings. Every previous technological revolution expanded human capability. Artificial intelligence invites us to surrender human responsibility. That distinction is profoundly theological.

This brings us to the next major problem with AI. Who is writing the programs? What is their moral base and their source of information? I mentioned the article about gun history by an AI source that knew nothing about the technical aspects of guns. It was easy and fast but highly false and misleading.

Will you depend on AI for information as to your salvation? Will you allow some unknow, invisible entity tell you about Christ and the path to salvation? Or, will you spend the effort to discover God’s Word and how it applies to your life? There is only One you can trust totally and that is God!

The 4th is over until next year when it will be even bigger and greater. Today's message is from Deuteronomy 7: 9-16 and is titled "Blessed Above All Peoples"

Today, we return to the Book of Deuteronomy as a follow-up to last week’s message. We read the Shema and commanded to HEAR the Word of God in how we live our daily lives and if we do, we will be blessed. Three chapters later God outlines the blessings we shall receive. But we must remember that all of his is conditional! It takes a whole lot more than just saying what you believe, you also must actually live what you believe.
The promises are there! Plainly written before us and we have no excuse for disobedience. These promises are mainly agriculturally based as that was the culture of the time. They would not understand the many examples we could make from today, BUT we are clearly able to understand what was written then. They all still apply today but maybe not specifically to you individually. We all still eat so these references are to our food supply, which we seem intent today to eliminate in preference to wealth. Rich people still must eat.
So just how are we to know that we are truly separate? We must know the gospel of Jesus Christ and live it as fully as we can. We are to believe it and that others through observing us, will know whose we are.
