We are now in June, better weather, and there should be some easier days ahead. BUT, we all must come to understand that we live in a time and world of deceit, and falseness, and danger of losing all we have worked for. The single largest economic industry in the United States is fraud. Billions of taxpayer dollars are being stolen BY the government and misused. That is not the worse part, there are many whose souls are being stolen by falseness and we must come to understand tis that we may find our personal salvation and to also bring along as man others as we can.
Our message this week begins a 4 part series on falseness in the church. Our message today is titled " Let No One Cheat You." Today’s message is based on Colossians 2: 18-23.
Their assumed humility found an expression in angel worship. It is therefore that lowliness which causes a man to think himself unworthy to come into fellowship with God, and therefore prompts to worship of the angels.” False humility and the worship of angels do not make anyone more spiritual. Instead, holding fast to the Head (Jesus) makes us truly spiritual.
What are you out for? Believe me, you will get it whatever it is, if you are determined to do so. Are you out for the rewards of this world? They can be obtained with very little effort. They satisfy for a while, but when one begins to think seriously about them they are not even worth that little effort. But still we go on trying to get the best out of both worlds. Let us realize once and for all that the things of the Spirit can only be appreciated by the spirit. The reward for a spiritual way of life is a spiritual reward.

Who is still complaining about no rain? We have been blessed but this will not last and we need more. This Sunday is Trinity Sunday, where we recognize the Holy Trinity and what it means for our faith. For our Trinity Sunday message, I have chosen Jesus’ Great Commission as our scriptural text. This passage should be very familiar to us all AND it highlights the Trinity as Jesus commands us to baptize all nations in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. This event is Matthews account of Jesus’ Ascension when Jesus returns to God after the crucifixion and resurrection. I will be drawing heavily from an article by Dr. Paul Eliott and Teaching the Word Ministries.
The Trinity is a foundational Christian doctrine where even small errors can have large (and devastating) consequences. Although the word "Trinity" appears nowhere in Scripture, the doctrine of one God revealed in three persons is plainly taught in Scripture. The Trinity has become a neglected doctrine in the evangelical church in recent times, to the church's great harm. How is your grasp of this truth?
“If Jesus Christ were not equal with the Father, could he have claimed this equality of power, without being guilty of impiety and blasphemy? Surely not; and does he not, in the fullest manner, assert his Godhead, and his equality with the Father, by claiming and possessing all the authority in heaven and earth?” This is plain, this is language that is a little primitive, but remains plain as to from where Jesus draws His power.
The Trinity is not only a New Testament doctrine. It is very much an Old Testament teaching as well. At various places in the Old Testament, God is referred to as a unity ("I") but at the same time a plurality ("us") - e.g., Genesis 3:22, 11:7; Isaiah 6:8. Among the Hebrew names for God in the Old Testament, the plural name Elohim is used over 2,000 times
The doctrine of the Trinity is not merely a technicality. It is essential Christian truth. To believe in the God of the Bible is to believe in the Trinity. To not believe in the Trinity is to not believe in the God of the Bible.

Now, it's starting to act like spring leading into summer. Our message is titled: "So All Were Amazed". Today’s message is based on Acts 2: 1-21.
Today, we have one of those dual celebration Sundays, Pentecost and Memorial Day which is on Monday. Memorial Day is a day set aside to remember, memorialize, those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation through its many wars and conflicts. Those men and women gave all so that we could have the benefit of a free society and a life of liberty. We will cover more later. Our Christian celebration is Pentecost. This occurred 50 days after Easter for Christians and was also the Festival of Weeks for the Jews. As Easter and Passover overlap, so does Pentecost.
What this passage tells us about the gift of the Holy Spirit. The gift of the Holy Spirit is promised to us. The gift of the Holy Spirit is worth waiting for. The gift of the Holy Spirit comes as He wills, often not according to our expectation. The gift of the Holy Spirit can come upon not only individuals, but also upon groups (see also Acts 2:4, 4:31, 10:44). The gift of the Holy Spirit is often given as God deals with the flesh and there is a dying to self. What this passage does not tell us about the gift of the Holy Spirit. The gift of the Holy Spirit is given according to formula. We earn the gift of the Holy Spirit by our seeking.
Now, under the New Covenant, the outpouring of the Holy Spirit is for all who call upon the name of the LORD, even menservants and maidservants. “There had been no provision for, and no promise of, an abiding presence of the Holy Spirit in the life of any Old Testament saint.”. This changes under the New Covenant.
Memorial Day 2026 will be observed on Monday, May 25, 2026 where we are to Honor the Brave – Remember Their Sacrifice. It is one of the most meaningful national holidays in the United States — a day to honor and remember the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces who gave their lives in service to their country. Each year, Americans come together on this day to pay tribute to fallen heroes, visit cemeteries and memorials, attend patriotic ceremonies, and reflect on the true cost of freedom. It’s important to reflect on how this day continues to unite Americans in gratitude and respect. In an era where freedom is often taken for granted, Memorial Day serves as a powerful reminder of the individuals who laid down their lives to protect the nation’s ideals. “Our nation owes a debt to its fallen heroes that we can never fully repay, but we can honor their memory by serving our country and communities with the same spirit of courage.”

We, as a nation have lived in relative peace for many years. The younger among us will not understand the pain of losing a loved one, one with so much promise, that never came home and will never experience the balance of life never fulfilled. It is a high price that has been paid for your ability to live free, IF we do not forfeit our liberties and freedom through careless neglect in how we live today. Our nation is today under attack on numerous fronts both physically and spiritually. Will you have the resolve to stand firm to preserve what some many gave totally of themselves for you, or will you simply stay uninvolved and allow their sacrifices to be wasted on self-interest and greed?

Well, the weather is still playing games. This Sunday we will be observing Ascension Sunday with a message titled "Why Do You Stand Gazing?" that comes from Acts 1: 6-14.
On this Ascension Sunday we find ourselves pretty much at the same point as the disciples were over 2000 years ago. We (the disciples and us) have accepted the resurrection, have come to believe in Jesus as Messiah, Savior and Risen Lord and sometimes wonder what do we do next. The disciples had a decided advantage in that they personally were with Christ and saw the many wonders and miracles He demonstrated where we must read and pray about those things that happened for us to grow in faith. Our lesson today answers many questions we may have and gives us a purposeful direction in which we must travel.
Our impatience should not get in our way to fully discovering God’s intention for us. We are not to tell God what to do but are to wait for God to prepare us for our individual role in His plan. His idea of what we are to do will likely be far different than what we believe our role is to be. We are to read, study, and pray that when we ARE ready, God will then empower us at that time. Until then we are to work to grow in faith and wait for God’s timing.
What are we to do with what we have heard today? Are we to worry about when this will occur? Jesus himself said, “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. BUT, we must be prepared as if that day is today. IF that day was today, how confident are you that you will be greeted with a “Well done good and faithful servant”, or will you hear the Master say “Away from me!”.

Now that Spring has decided to make an appearance (for how long?) this week we honor our mothers and bring a message titled: Our Helper. Today’s message is based on John 14: 15-21
Today’s message addresses our recognition of Mother’s Day and the period where Christ announces He is going to die but that He will send the disciples a Helper in the presence of the Holy Spirit. We will get more to Mother’s Day later but now turn to John’s Gospel to hear of the promise of Christ to not abandon us. As with much of John, these verses, the ones preceding and the ones following are rich in doctrine and guides for fruitful living. The bulk of this part of John comes on the night of the Last Supper. I have great trouble even imagining all the emotions Jesus was experiencing that night and He fully knew what was coming, the disciples had no clue and yet Jesus took the time to comfort THEM.
For the believer, disobedience is not only a failure of performance or a failure of strength. In some sense, it is also a failure of love. Those who love God most obey Him most joyfully and naturally. To say, “I really love Jesus, I just don’t want Him to tell me how to live my life” is a terrible misunderstanding of both Jesus and love for Him.
Because I live, you will live also: The disciples would not only see Jesus by the Spirit, they would also continue to live in Jesus through the work of the Holy Spirit. Their dependence on the life of Jesus would not end when He departed; it would continue in greater measure through the Holy Spirit.

Nature hasn't decided between spring and winter, so it is just idling sorta in the middle until it makes up its mind. This Sunday our message is titled "Seek God’s Face" and is based on 2 Chronicles 7: 12-22.
We are taking a short break this week to concentrate on two very important topics. First, the National Day of Prayer is on May 7, 2026 with its theme to Glorify God. The scripture selected for 2026 is 1 Chronicles 16:24 which says "Tell of His glory among the nations, His wonderful deeds among all the peoples." The National Day of Prayer began in 1952: On April 17 a bill initiated by Mr. Conrad Hilton of Hilton Hotels and Senator Frank Carlson of Kansas was passed (Public Law 82-324, Sec. 119) that states: The President shall set aside and proclaim a suitable day each year, other than a Sunday, as a National Day of Prayer, on which the people of the United States may turn to God in prayer and meditation at churches, in groups, and as individuals.
Solomon received the blessing of knowing his prayers were answered. When we think we deserve the same response we must also think of what we have done FOR God? Going to church is not what God has in mind. Of course He demands our worship, but our accomplishments pale in reflection to what Solomon has done. The most important of which was setting aside personal wishes and replacing them with what God wills.
Thursday is the National Day of Prayer. I charge each of you to set aside just 5 minutes, more, much more is preferred, to stop whatever you are doing and pray for this nation. The theme is to glorify God and not self. When we look at the history of America, we find numerous examples of divine intervention in how our nation was founded, established and set aside as a light on the hill for all nations to see. For many of our 250 years, we did.

Another dose of winter. Pray it's the last. Prayers for our fruit growers. Our message for the 26th is titled "The Door of the Sheep" and is based on John 10: 1-11.
Today is the third Sunday after Easter and we will begin looking at some of the teachings of Jesus that should guide us through our daily lives. This is a hard task as ALL the teachings of Jesus do this, but my intent is to pick a few that will bear the most fruit as the days of live become shorter and we await His coming, that we should be prepared for that glorious day. I read this week a survey on how much Bible reading we actually have achieved in our lives.

This is of course, read our Bibles. Only 17% claim to have read the Bible cover to cover at least once. 42% have never opened the book and even professing Christians are increasingly biblically illiterate. In other words, they may have read the Bible, or parts of the Bible but don’t have a solid understanding of what it says. Even familiar passages can create problems in that it all depends on how we were taught what the passage was all about. Selfishly we seek only the parts that reinforce what we WANT to believe and seldom actually seek what God intended for us when He had the ancient scribes, prophets and Apostles record His Word for us.
A constant theme of Jesus’ ministry is in exposing the religious leaders as the false leaders they really were. Those sent to lead the people to a better life and even salvation often had motives that were selfish and the people were left in a worse situation than they would have been without the false teachers and leaders. This is not something that existed only in Jesus’ day as we still suffer as a people from many who lead people falsely, down the wrong path that leads to damnation.
We just read a few weeks ago that Mary did not recognize Jesus at the tomb UNTIL he called her name. Do you think Jesus knows your name? He does, but you will only hear when you have accepted Jesus as your Shepherd.
How do we repay Jesus for what He did for us? We are to live in obedience to His teachings, acknowledging His great love for us in how we live. We are to seek the righteous way, The Door of the Sheep. We are not to take the easy path but the one He calls us to follow and we will be rewarded with abundant life and life in eternity with Jesus. We should not wait to prepare ourselves for some long distant day when we will be called, for we have already been called, we must prepare NOW as if that day is today. Come, Lord Jesus, come. Amen

We are now in "sorta Spring" Weather is warmer, but with cloudy days, wind and still too cool. Our message comes from Luke 24: 13-35 and is titled "Concerning Jesus".
This is the second Sunday since Easter, yet our message today comes from that same glorious day. Our Lord was crucified on Friday, rested in the tomb and on the third day rose from the world of the dead and was alive. We tend to make too little of Easter. Of course, we acknowledge the great event of the empty tomb, but there was a lot that happened on that day, and this is the last event of this day related to our Risen Lord. This even was not with the leadership of our new group, but with ordinary members, people much like you and me. While the earlier event were with people who were much closer to Jesus, we were not forgotten, for Jesus remembers us all.
The men then explained what they did know about Jesus. They knew His name and where He was from. They knew He was a Prophet. They knew He was mighty in deed and word. They knew He was crucified. They knew He promised to redeem Israel. They knew others had said He rose from the dead. These disciples had a hope disappointed. Their hope was not truly disappointed; but in some ways their hope was misguided. Jesus would show them that their true hope was fulfilled in Him and His resurrection.
Jesus began to teach them what was surely one of the most spectacular Bible studies ever taught. Beginning in Moses and all the Prophets, He told them all about the Messiah. “It is a sign to us that He is still the same, though He has passed into the resurrection glory, that He still goes back to the old familiar Scripture which He had learned beside His mother’s knee.”

Welcome Spring with intermittent bursts of winter. message titled: Is Your Door Shut? Our message for April 12th is based on John 20: 19-31 and is titled "Is Your Door Shut?"
We are in the first Sunday after Easter. We have had the tragedy of the crucifixion followed by the joy of the empty tomb. We now have a brief period of uncertainty. Imagine your reaction to such an extraordinary story, if you had heard it without the benefit of current Bbile study and experience. Most or not all would have ridiculed whoever told such a story. You certainly would not have developed a deep belief just based on the story. It would and did require much more, and today’s message is the beginning of the additional proofs required.
“We can scarcely say more than that John wants us to see that the risen Jesus was not limited by closed doors. Miraculously He stood in their midst.” Jesus might have gone anywhere and done anything after His resurrection, but He wanted to be with His people. He sought out His people.
This passage also serves as a summary for the Gospel of John. John admits that he presented an incomplete collection. He couldn’t possibly record in writing all that Jesus said and did. But one only tells enough of a living person to introduce one’s hearers to him. John trusts that a personal relationship with Jesus will reveal more to the believer.
