Helping others? Help for self? Get started at RU Recovery Program - Wi******er, VA Fridays from 7-9. We are located at Emmanuel Baptist Church 2774 Northwestern Pike Wi******er, VA 22603
So many want to get others help and recovery. Many mothers, fathers, siblings, spouses, girlfriends , boyfriends, and acquaintances reach out to me constantly to get help for their loved one who is addicted to alcohol or drugs. Sometimes they drag them through the door of the RU Recovery Program ready to send them to residential treatment. Ready to pay in full for Recovery. Ready to “get them help” whether they want it or not.
Two things I want to mention. First, no matter how hard we want them to Recover, they have to have some desire for Recovery as well. The second might make your toes hurt from me stomping on them, but it has to be said. When you are asking your loved one to stop an addictive behavior, be ready to change your lifestyle with them! You cannot expect to continue your lifestyle that contains the behaviors that your recovering loved one is trying to avoid.
Example: you can’t have your weekly keg party with the boys during football season when you have a son recovering from alcohol addiction. You have to change too! You have to sacrifice so that person you wish to recover, can recover without all the temptations.
Do you really want to help others? Come on out we will treat you with love and respect and get you the help you need. -Nick
Jude 1:22-23 22 And of some have compassion, making a difference: 23 And others save with fear, pulling [them] out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.
