There’s something special about serving in the temple. 🤍

For our youth, it can be a place to feel peace, strengthen their faith, serve others, and feel closer to Jesus Christ.

We asked a few of them why they love serving in the temple. Their answers remind us that sometimes the greatest blessings of service are the ones we feel in our hearts.

We’re grateful for these young disciples and their example of choosing to serve the Savior. 🌿

We can’t wait for the day when youth throughout the Shenandoah Valley will have a temple close to home—a place where they can come, serve, and draw closer to Christ.

Sunday marked one year since we gathered to break ground for the Wi******er Virginia Temple. 🤍

In just one year, we’ve watched the temple rise from the ground and begin to take shape. What a beautiful reminder of the faith, sacrifice, and anticipation that brought us to that day—and the blessings that lie ahead.

We’re grateful to watch this house of the Lord take shape in the Shenandoah Valley. 🕊️

Some stone has been added to the temple, as well as scaffolding to the steeple!

As the temple progresses, we can ponder on our spiritual foundation and how this temple can strengthen our testimony of Jesus Christ.

“My dear brothers and sisters, these are the latter days. If you and I are to withstand the forthcoming perils and pressures, it is imperative that we each have a firm spiritual foundation built upon the rock of our Redeemer, Jesus Christ.

So I ask each of you, how firm is your foundation? And what reinforcements to your testimony and understanding of the gospel are needed?

The temple lies at the center of strengthening our faith and spiritual fortitude because the Savior and His doctrine are the very heart of the temple. Everything taught in the temple, through instruction and through the Spirit, increases our understanding of Jesus Christ. His essential ordinances bind us to Him through sacred priesthood covenants. Then, as we keep our covenants, He endows us with His healing, strengthening power. And oh, how we will need His power in the days ahead.”

The Wi******er congregation recently showered the temple construction workers with love, treats, and electrolytes.

We are so grateful for their hard work, especially in this summer heat!

Thank you to all who have ministered to and fed these wonderful people working on our temple. Love definitely blossoms here 🌸

“On my mission, I had the chance to serve at the Grand Junction, Colorado temple open house. We met so many people each day, and even in really short conversations, we got to share why the temple means so much to us.

One experience that’s stuck with me was meeting a woman who came to visit with her daughter. She spent a long time in the baptistry, just sitting and taking it all in. As we talked with her, she shared how peaceful she felt—and we were able to testify that what she was feeling was the Spirit, and that the temple is truly God’s house.

She came back multiple times because she wanted to feel that again. The temple answered so many questions for her that the world could not. Eventually, she met with missionaries and chose to be baptized.

Experiences like that remind me how special the temple really is. It’s peaceful, it’s powerful, and it truly feels like heaven is a little closer there. I believe our spirits feel at home at the temple.

I’ve found so much joy in attending the temple and always feel closer to my Heavenly Father and Savior, Jesus Christ, when I go. I am so thankful for temples around the world and for the covenants that connect us to Heaven.”
