Many years ago I worked a job. I got moved to a failing department. I was told by management. If you bring this department up in sales, I will give you a raise in pay.
I had two things in mind, one, I wanted to see the department excel in growth and percentages, and two, I would love a raise in pay. I had already worked a few years, without one.
So for three months, I worked hard, with products, the customer’s. At inventory after three months, I was up in percentages and sales. Did, I get my raise ? No, I was asked to do the same for three more months. I excepted, I had bills to pay.
At the end of that three months, my sales up again. My raise was given to someone else. The manager’s excuse, was they have been here longer, and they are struggling financially. They are your friend, surely you want mind them getting a little help.
I was disappointed, hurt and discouraged. Being the person that I am, I fit back tear’s and prayed for my friend that got the raise. I couldn’t up and quit, I had bills to pay also.
You got to understand, some folk want fall to a lower degree. I still worked my department. I did my best, my work was a reflection of who, I was. I also was a Christian.
When shared with a friend not work related. They said, I would walk out of that place, with a few choice words. I again said, I have bills to pay, and I had my integrity. I said, I can’t right now. So days was spent in prayer. From that manager, his words never rang true. He never gave me that raise, but I made him coffee, every time he ask me. Don’t allow hurt to steal your place with the Lord.
Sure, I wasn’t treated fair, I can’t say it didn’t hurt, but I paid my bills. I prayed and ask the Lord to create a clean heart in me. At times, Satan wanted me angry. He would point out how wrong, I was being treated. Still, I prayed, I had bills to pay, and a promise of a heavenly home and life, I wasn’t about to let go of that.
Sometimes we are put in places like Joseph in the Bible. After all, he is one of my favorite Bible characters. The way Joseph handled himself, brought favor with God. The bible states, God was with Joseph.
When you have a change to do good and hold your integrity, just do whats right, the Lord sees it.
So what happed ? How did God move, when I prayed ? All, I can say was God heard my prayer. A new job came to me. I didn’t go looking. They walked in the place, I was working at.
The new job, I got a raise in pay, bonus’s, weekends off. I didn’t even haft to buy gas, or drive my car, I rode to work with my husband, it was on his way.
I am telling someone, don’t give up. Just do whats right. My bills came before my feeling, and my salvation also. God knew me. I didn’t dislike the one that got my raise, I worked so hard for. I prayed for them. I still made coffee for the manager that lied to me. In the end, God said, I see your labor, and that’s what mattered the most. Hold on, your blessing is on its way.
