Mt Pleasant-Lamps United Methodist Church We are a small church with a big heart and mighty mission. All are welcome! Sunday School: 9:30 a.m. Worship: 11:00 a.m. A new brick church was dedicated in 1962.

Our name, Mount Pleasant / Lamps celebrates the marriage of two traditions. Mount Pleasant was born a United Brethren in Christ. Built in 1857, the original building was used as a hospital during the Civil War. Available records for Lamps date back to 1800. Meetings were held in a log school house 400 yards from the present site, where a Methodist Episcopal Church, South was built in 1982. The eva

ngelical United Brethren Church merged with the Methodist church in 1968-1970. Mount Pleasant and Lamps were joined together in 1978. We worship in the newer, Mount Pleasant facility, except for the last Sunday of the month, when we worship in the Lamps building. As we worship at Lamps, former members and their families return to their church roots. Join our church family for fellowship, worship, discipleship, and mission in the name of Christ.
