This morning at the Clarke County FCA Huddle was such a great reminder that God is moving in the lives of students.

We were blessed with an incredible Chick-fil-A breakfast brought in by one of our students — chicken minis, hash browns, cookies, fresh fruit, sweet tea, lemonade… the whole setup was amazing! More importantly, it gave us another opportunity to gather together around God’s Word and encourage one another.

We also heard a powerful message from a student speaker out of John 5:1-14, where Jesus meets the man at the pool of Bethesda. What a reminder that Jesus sees us in our brokenness, knows exactly what we need, and still asks us if we are willing to trust Him and walk in obedience.

So thankful for students who are stepping up in leadership, serving others, and boldly sharing their faith.

HISTORY MADE — but what stands out even more than the goals is the young man behind them. ⚽️✝️

Congratulations to Isaac Carter on becoming Handley’s new single-season scoring leader with 34 goals… and still counting! What an incredible accomplishment and testament to the hard work, discipline, and dedication he’s poured into his game.

But for those of us who know Isaac through FCA and around Handley, we know his greatest impact isn’t just on the soccer field. For the last 3 years, Isaac has faithfully served as a Huddle Leader, consistently pointing others to Christ through his words, attitude, leadership, and example. He loves the Lord, loves people, and leads with humility and character.

Records will eventually be broken, but the influence of a godly leader lasts far beyond the scoreboard.

We’re proud of you, Isaac — not just for the goals you score, but for the life you live and the example you set for others every single day. Excited to see what God continues to do in and through you… and maybe even watch another record fall before the season ends! 🙌⚽️🔥

Looking forward to welcoming Parker Byrd to Wi******er this October for Fields of Faith! Stay tuned in the coming months for more information!

More than a comeback story ⚾️

A top-ranked ECU baseball prospect, Parker Byrd’s life changed in 2022 after a boating accident that led to the amputation of his right leg.

What could have ended his baseball career became a powerful story of faith and purpose beyond the game. In the midst of recovery and over 20 surgeries, Parker leaned into his faith and began sharing a message of hope rooted in his relationship with God.

Now competing at the Division I level with a prosthetic, Parker has stepped into game action at ECU and continues to inspire others both on and off the field.

Last huddle of the year at Handley, and what a way to finish! Our annual breakfast on the Blackstone day was an incredible morning filled with bacon, sausage, eggs, pancakes, donuts, pastries, fruit, orange juice… we had it all!

But even more important than the food was what God is doing in hearts and lives. We were blessed to hear Coach Smith share how God has been using Coach Phillips and different life circumstances over the past few months to draw him back into the Word and to a place of taking his faith seriously again. What an incredible reminder that God is always at work!

We also took time to recognize several senior leaders and pray over those who are graduating and stepping into their next season of life. We are thankful for the impact they’ve had and excited to see how God will continue to use them.

God is moving at Handley and all across the Northern Shenandoah Valley! Please keep praying for these students, coaches, and campuses.

Clarke County HS this morning.

So thankful for the time together. Audrey led devotions and asked several thought-provoking questions that sparked a really meaningful discussion about where our value comes from.

It’s not dependent on our performance—whether in our sport, the classroom, or anywhere else the world tells us to find it. Our value is found in this truth: we are created in the image of God. He loves us, and our worth comes from Him.
