*Sunday of the Holy Fathers of the First Six Ecumenical Councils*

On this sacred day, we commemorate the Holy and God-bearing Fathers who gathered in the first six Ecumenical Councils to defend the Catholic faith and preserve the unity of the Church.

Their legacy teaches us:

-To stand unwavering in the truth of Christ, even amidst heresy and division.

-To uphold the unity of the Church, as our Lord prayed: "That they all may be one." (John 17:21)

-To revere the guidance of the Holy Spirit working through the Church's councils.

-To approach truth with humility, obedience, and love for God and neighbor.

Through their holy labors, we have received the Nicene Creed and the clarity of doctrine that continues to guide us on the path of salvation.

May we honor their memory not only in word, but in steadfast faith and holy living. "Guard that which has been entrusted to you." – 1 Timothy 6:20

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Deacon Tony Holt for traveling to Wilton from Belfield, bringing his dedication to our community. Saturday's liturgy was all the more meaningful because of his presence. May God bless him and his wife, Katrina, abundantly for his continued ministry among us.

This weekend, we celebrate two powerful and meaningful days - the Third Sunday After Pentecost and The Feast of Saints Peter and Paul:

+3rd Sunday After Pentecost

Readings:
-Romans 5:1-10
-Matthew 6:22-33

Today, we were reminded to trust God fully, especially in times of worry or suffering. Jesus tells us not to be anxious about what we'll eat or wear- God provides. And Paul reminds us that even when we suffer, we are growing in endurance, character, and hope.

God's love reaches us while we're still imperfect, and He asks us to seek His Kingdom first; everything else will follow.

Readings:
-2 Corinthians: 11:21-12:9
-Matthew 16:13-19

On this day, we honor the two pillars of the Church- Peter, the rock of faith, and Paul, the missionary firebrand. Paul teaches us that God's strength shines through our weakness, and Peter shows us that a simple, bold confession of faith can carry the Church through history.

The Church isn't built on perfect people, it's built on faith, humility, and the grace of God. May we live like Peter and Paul: bold in our faith, humble in our weakness, and steady in our trust.
