**THE PASTOR’S PERSPECTIVE:**

Let’s be honest. There are some people we love to love, and there are some people we have to work a little harder to love. Some have hurt us, disappointed us, lied on us, mistreated us, and if we’re honest, there are even some people we simply don’t like. But here’s the reminder: the fact that you don’t like them does not mean God doesn’t love them. They are still somebody’s son, somebody’s daughter, somebody God created, and yes—they are still God’s child.

Jesus said, “Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.” — Matthew 5:44. That doesn’t mean you have to trust everybody, give everybody access to you, or ignore boundaries and pretend you weren’t hurt. But it does mean you cannot allow your hurt to make you forget their humanity. Before you talk about them, pray for them. Before you judge them, remember grace. Before you write them off, remember that God hasn’t written them off. You may not like them, but God loves them. And if God can love them, we ought to at least learn how to love them too. —

THE PASTOR’S PERSPECTIVE
STOP EXPLAINING YOURSELF TO EVERYBODY.
One of the most freeing things you can learn is that you don’t have to explain every decision, every change, every boundary, or every season of your life to everybody. Sometimes people will misunderstand you. Sometimes they’ll talk about you. Sometimes they’ll create their own version of your story. Remember… when people don’t have all the INFORMATION, they will use their IMAGINATION. Let them. You don’t have to chase down every rumor, correct every misunderstanding, defend every decision, or prove your heart to people who have already decided what they want to believe. Proverbs 29:11 says, “A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards.” If God knows your heart, you don’t need everybody else to understand it. Stop explaining. Keep walking. Let God handle the rest.
