Who needs a pot of gold when we have this crew? ๐ŸŒˆโœจ We were feeling extra lucky yesterday at Wilton Manors Adult Day Care Center as we celebrated St. Patrickโ€™s Day with good music, green treats, and the best company in town.
Special thanks to Area Agency on Aging of Broward County and Community Foundation of Broward for providing the support that makes our days extra magical. ๐Ÿช„๐Ÿ’š

Rapid Response, Lasting Hope ๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ

When Hurricane Melissa loomed as a Category 5 threat, Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Miami didnโ€™t wait for the aftermath to act.

Thanks to the leadership of CEO Peter Routsis-Arroyo and a decades-long partnership with the Church in Cuba, life-saving aid is reaching those who need it most in Jamaica, Haiti, and Cuba. From shipping 25โ€“30 containers of supplies annually to a new collaboration with the U.S. government and CRS, we are ensuring that relief goes directly into the hands of the community.

Together, we are turning compassion into action.

Catholic Charities continues to support those affected by Hurricane Melissa. This mission is bolstered by the incredible response to last yearโ€™s hurricane appeal in the Archdiocese of Miami, which provided an initial $400,000 in relief for the island. Working alongside Caritas Cuba, local priests, staff, and dedicated volunteers across four impacted dioceses are on the ground delivering critical aid.

Hurricane Melissa Relief Update!

Our community raised vital funds following Hurricane Melissa! ๐Ÿ™ Aid is reaching impacted islands, including Jamaica and Haiti.

But the effort also included a special humanitarian initiative: sending essential relief via cargo flights to Cuba!

Working with government permissions and partners like Caritas Cuba and four affected Catholic dioceses, Catholic Charities has delivered basic necessities like food, bottled water, rice, and canned goods.

CEO Peter Routsis-Arroyo recently traveled to Cuba with the third shipment. It's reported that these may be the only humanitarian flights into the island since the hurricane, thanks to generous donors! โค๏ธ
