How did this start? This project was inspired by John Raynor, who was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer in September 2014. After his diagnosis John began making small crosses to give to children, as well as baby doll beds, toys and larger crosses to women of our church and community. John’s gifts have blessed hundreds of people in the Wilson, NC community and as far away as the Democratic Repu
blic of Congo, Africa and just recently in Colombia, South America! John continues to fight this battle with cancer by faith daily and is still blessing children with crosses. The cross is the ultimate symbol of God’s love. What is this project about? We want to get these crosses, made by John and a team of volunteers, to disadvantaged children across the world and bless them with a gift for Christmas. This small act of kindness will show them the love of Christ and give much needed hope for the future. The crosses will be given away to children on every continent of the world, except of course Antarctica, through the help of our ministry partners. How can you help? Your donation of $10 per cross, before October 15th, 2016, will assist us in reaching our goal of distributing 1000 crosses around the world for Christmas 2016, in John’s honor. In addition to the gift of a cross, your support will also help a child receive something for Christmas such as school supplies, a toy or much needed physical necessities. Who are our ministry partners? First Free Will Baptist Church, Wilson, NC has been supporting global missions through it’s own program since 1992. We currently support more than 30 missionaries in over 15 countries through 19 different missions agencies!
