St. Mark's United Methodist Church Garden Project

St. Mark's United Methodist Church Garden Project The Garden Project supports our church's food cupboard which feeds many families in our community. W The St. The church hosted FEMA and Red Cross Reps.

The Garden Project began in the spring of 2013 through the Middle School Sunday School Class Service Project and Missions Committee. Mark's UMC Missions Committee started a Food Closet several years ago after a hurricane rocked our community and left many families without homes and in need of service. to assist families through their difficult time following the storm. At that time we also provide

d a soup lunch for the volunteers, families, and emergency workers that came through our doors. It was one of the many times we opened our doors to community members in need. It has been a quite a journey to founding this Garden Project to support our families through fresh veggies among our missions with the Food Closet. We are always looking for new volunteers! Our garden expanded to 75'x 30' which put an even larger work load on our current volunteers. We are looking for green thumbs, w**d pullers, seed planters, and really anyone interested in help serve our community. Please contact us if you are interested in anyway! Have a group that wants to assist? Great we always have work to do! Early spring we will begin planting and preparing the soil for the upcoming season. Thank you in advance for your service and prayers!
