A PURPOSE FULFILLED
At our very first service on August 28, 1988, Pastor Ron McGee stood and declared that ROCK Church would be a diverse body of believers called to follow the direction of Holy Spirit as we built a strong foundation for future generations. For 33 years, we have faithfully pursued God’s purpose for our church. By Holy Spirit’s leading, we have built a solid foundation that has helped bring stability for the Church in Wilmington. Today, there are many strong, vibrant, balanced churches in our city continuing to build on this strong foundation. We celebrate what God is doing in our city through these great churches.
Today, just as we did in 1988, we are following Holy Spirit’s lead as we recognize a purpose fulfilled. We have faithfully served to tear down walls, build bridges and declare God’s Kingdom on the earth. With this understanding, we recognize the season for ROCK Church has come to an end. Not because we have failed. But because we have faithfully obeyed the voice of the Lord and fulfilled our purpose together.
In this next season, we are committed to helping build the local Church in Wilmington. We are asking Holy Spirit to direct everyone in ROCK Church to where God desires each of us to connect, commit, and serve in a local church body. There are many great churches in our city. We have listed a few on our website. We are praying for our church family to quickly connect where God is leading you.
It has been my honor to serve on the ROCK Church staff for over 30 years and lead as your pastor for the last 13 years. On behalf of our Presbytery and Non-Resident Elders, we believe the Word of the Lord to us is that we have completed our purpose as ROCK Church. We know God was with us at the Alpha of this ministry on August 28, 1988, and we are confident He is with us today at the Omega of ROCK Church.
We love you,
Pastor Bryan, Jennifer, and the Presbytery
