Living Water Ministries

Living Water Ministries Come join our 'family'! We are part of the Advent Christian General Conference, an evangelical denomination operating in the US and many foreign countries.

Living Water Ministries is a 'full gospel' congregation, believing that the work and ministry of the Holy Spirit in and through the church is just as essential today as it was in the first-century church. The ACGC, with headquarters in Charlotte, NC, is a member of the National Association of Evangelicals

GOODBYE, AND GOOD RIDDANCE, 2022!!
Maybe that's how you feel about leaving 2022 behind. We know how you feel!! This past year -- in fact the past two years -- have been especially hard on our small congregation. In 2021, we lost three members of our church family, and 2022 didn't start off any better. These were not 'CEO' people (Christmas, Easter, and Other Occasions). No, these were vital, deep-rooted members that we shared life and faith with. In addition to those four, our congregation lost 13 'extended' family members -- in just last year alone!! These included former church members that we still considered 'family', as well as parents, siblings, etc. Personally, I feel like I've been to more funerals in the past two years than the past ten years prior!
That much loss can wear on you. It tends to beat you down. You grow weary of it.
We’ve heard a lot lately about the 'Great Resignation' that's taking place. A pastor recently described it in terms that makes sense: People are tired of life. They’re checking out. They want to scream, “Stop! I want to get off!!”
Unfortunately, that ‘resignation mindset’ has seeped into the church. People who were once active in church now find it easier to watch in their pajamas from the comfort of their living room. People who once served in ministry are now content to just come and leave without contributing anything.
We get it.
But if you are one of those who has ‘checked out’ of church, can we invite you to check back in?? Your church needs you. WE need you! If you’re not active in a local church, we encourage you to find a body of believers (insert GIF of Blake Shelton pointing at his head), and get ‘plugged in’. Community starts with CONNECTION. Life is so much better when we do it together!!

FAITH -- it's a concept that is foreign to most people. "Seeing is believing", right? How can Christians possibly believe in God when there is no 'scientific evidence' that proves His existence? How can we believe in far-fetched ideas like Creation when the 'evidence' is to the contrary? Actually, the proof is there, it's just that most people can't see it. God has hidden His evidence in plain sight. Psalm 19:1 "The heavens declare the glory of God, and the skies proclaim the work of his hands." Evidence or proof doesn't require faith. If you have proof of something, then there is no need for faith. But scripture says, "Without faith it is impossible to please God." God purposely hides the evidence from those who have no desire for Him. Imagine, what if God had simply laid out the evidence so that everyone could plainly see it? Evidence so conclusive that no one would have any doubts of His existence. No faith required. That's not how it works. Instead, He wants us to believe His Word, without any evidence. It's a crazy concept.

There's JOY in the house of the Lord!! JOY is a natural byproduct of gratitude, and gratitude comes from knowing how much you've been saved from and how much you've been given through Christ Jesus! (PS. If your church is full of gloomy faces, maybe you need a new church!!)

I have often joked that I am pan-millennial in my eschatology – it will all pan out in the end. I really don’t know what things will be like when Jesus returns, but the important thing is that he will return. [...]

Well, it's that time of year again. The time when many people make New Year's resolutions -- well-intentioned goals that are usually cast to the wayside before the end of January. Most resolutions center around doing things that will improve our lives -- like quitting bad habits and starting good habits that we think will improve our health and/or happiness. But this year, how about if we created resolutions that improve the lives of others? Like, smile more, give more, love more, encourage more, pray more, bless more. Instead of worrying about making our lives better, let's focus on making our lives a living example of Christ's love to others.
But if you're still intent on improving your life this year, may we suggest finding and planting yourself in a church home. But, more important than church, is a living, thriving relationship with the One who loves you more than you can ever imagine. We'd like to help you connect with that One. If you're thinking about 'getting back into church', or even if you've never been to church and wonder what it's all about, we'd love to have you join us.
