St. John the Beloved Parish was honored today to help the Diocese celebrate the Footprints Mass with Bishop Koenig presiding. Thank you to all who participated in helping us pray for those who have suffered a loss and carried the grief of losing a child in infancy or pregnancy.

Bishop Jaya Rao Polimera made one last stop to visit with Father Vannicola before he journeyed back to India. We were so blessed to celebrate Mass with him last weekend!

Doctors at Gemelli Hospital removed a cancerous tumor from Pope Leo XIV’s right lung, according to the Holy See Press Office. The surgery was successful, with no complications, and the Holy Father has returned to his hospital room.
We ask the faithful to continue praying for Pope Leo’s recovery and for the doctors and staff caring for him. We also hold in prayer all who are living with cancer, their families, and those who care for them.

St. John the Beloved Parish’s Knights of Columbus Council 11796 & Table of Plenty Outreach Center has started our annual Coats for Kids program for 2026. We are asking for donations of new coats, with tags on. Coats will be collected at all Masses the weekend of October 31-November 1.

Yesterday’s 9:30 AM Mass was especially meaningful as we welcomed Bishop Jaya Rao Polimera, visiting all the way from India, who presided at Mass and concelebrated alongside Fr. Amruth and Fr. Rajesh. Bishop Polimera is from Fr. Amruth’s home diocese and played an influential role in his early priesthood, when Fr. Amruth served as the bishop’s assistant. What a beautiful and meaningful connection to celebrate! We also recognized Deacon Sunday, giving thanks for the faithful service of Deacon Mark, who assisted in the Mass, and the important role of deacons in our Church. To make the celebration even more special, Fr. Amruth invited our football team to join them at the altar at the conclusion of Mass to gather and take a photo. What an honor for our players to be part of such a memorable celebration of faith, fellowship, and parish community! 🙏🏈

Deacons deserve much affirmation for their tireless work, proclaiming the word of God, giving homilies, performing baptisms, and witnessing marriages, among other responsibilities. These selfless servants are fully ordained clergy, reporting directly to the bishop.

What do deacons do:
Proclaim the Gospel
Baptize
Witness marriages
Perform funeral and burial services outside of the Eucharist
Distribute Holy Communion
Preach the homily
Visit the sick
Teach the faith
Provide counsel for couples and individuals
Work on parish committees
Advise and assist pastors
