Sometimes we can love the result, but not like the manner in which we got there. This is one of those instances.

Current Federal law requires that states that receive Medicaid funding give Medicaid patients the right to choose their own qualified doctor. Because South Carolina wanted to defund Planned Parenthood (a noble goal), they chose to ignore that law, and not cover medical expenses for Planned Parenthood patients, regardless of whether they were receiving an abortion or not.

The Supreme Court just ruled that while SC is violating federal law, the patient has no right to sue SC to force compliance . This is a dangerous precedent.

The proper course of getting to the same result is for Congress to do their job! They should revise federal law to prohibit giving any federal dollars to medical providers who perform abortions. Then maybe we can defund Planned Parenthood for good!

The Supreme Court on Thursday ruled that a South Carolina woman and Planned Parenthood do not have a legal right, known as standing, to bring a lawsuit challenging South Carolina’s […]

The 12-week abortion law passed by our Republican General Assembly last year has not significantly reduced the number of abortions in N.C.. Please urge our representatives and senators to do more. Thank you.

Those of us who support life should be happy, but not overly thrilled with these numbers. The number of abortions in N.C. in July of 2023 are down by 30% from June of this year. This is good news. The problem is that abortions in N.C. had already increased by 50% since the Dobbs decision. NC became a regional magnet for out of state visitors who sought a quick abortion under our liberal laws. The decline in the July 2023 numbers can rightfully be attributed to our state becoming less attractive for out of state visitors seeking abortions. This likely has way more to do with the new requirement that mothers physically meet with their abortion provider twice (with 72 hours in between visits) then it does with the new 12 week ban.

Those of us who care about the fate of unborn children must continue the fight until life is protected from the moment of conception.

Abortions in North Carolina dropped 31 percent in a single month after the state’s 12-week abortion ban took effect, according to a new analysis, the largest of any state. After the law took …

Moving legalized abortion from 20 weeks to 12 weeks in North Carolina is a step in the right direction. But it’s certainly not time for Republican members of the General Assembly to be patting themselves on the back or claiming “Mission Accomplished!”

Be thankful for your Mom every day. And be thankful that you’ve been fortunate enough to not have shared the fate of the millions of children who never got to celebrate even one Mother’s Day.
