A June to Remember
When I began my sabbatical for the month of June, I envisioned a season of rest, renewal, and reflection. I certainly didn’t expect it to begin with us canceling worship because water came crashing through the roof of our sanctuary. I hated having to call Dr. Darrell W. Fielder Jr. and telling him we would have to reschedule.
But even in that moment, God reminded me that the Church has never been about a building,
it’s about His people. What looked like a setback became another testimony. God made a way, and we were able to complete the necessary repairs in time to return for worship the very next Sunday.
That Sunday was especially meaningful as we celebrated 14 years of God’s faithfulness in pastoral ministry. I was blessed beyond words as my mentor, Pastor Lee Williams III, spoke a Rhema word over Empowerment Community Center and over my life.
The following week, Pastor Rodney Petty Jr. blessed our church with a powerful Father’s Day message that encouraged and challenged us all.
Then on the fourth Sunday, Pastor Rodney Armstrong closed out the month with a mighty Word that reminded us once again that God is still moving at ECC.
To each of these incredible servants of God thank you. Thank you for pouring into our church family. Your willingness to serve will never be forgotten.
To my ECC family, thank you for allowing me the gift of rest. Thank you to every leader, volunteer, and member who continued to serve with excellence. Because of your faithfulness, I was able to truly unplug, be refreshed, and hear from God. I love you more than words can express, and I am deeply grateful for each of you.
This sabbatical has renewed my heart, strengthened my spirit, and reminded me why I love serving God’s people.
Now...
I’m rested. I’m refreshed. I’m grateful.
And I’m ready to get back to work.
The best is still ahead for us.
To God be all the glory.
