Monday reflection from the Pastor’s desk-
Reinhard Bonnke once said- “The less Holy Spirit we have, the more cake and coffee we need to keep the church going.”
Ask yourself-
Would they still come if the coffee ran out❓
Would they still come if _______❓
Think about that! 🤔
I’m afraid the American church at large has become so consumer driven and accustomed to the “thrills and frills” that people seem to have great difficulty pressing into a worship service if the AC isn’t set just right, the lights aren’t set to their liking or if the praise team doesn’t play their favorite song.
I wonder, what would the disciples of the early church think of the church today❓❓❓
I believe many of them would quote Darth Vader when he said, “I find your lack of faith disturbing.” 🔥 That is what I believe is missing in so many places throughout these modern times…a lack of faith…a lack of desire…a lack of intentionally seeking after God!
The early church did not meet in large arenas with all of the modern comforts many of us take for granted each day.
They did not gather out of convenience, they gathered out of a hunger for more of Him!

I’m not saying it is wrong for our buildings to have nice things.
I’m thankful for our facilities.
I’m thankful we are able to offer a hot cup of coffee every Sunday morning to folks that have driven 5 minutes or 45 minutes just to come to our church.
I’m thankful for the AC that keeps us cool on a hot summer’s day.
I’m thankful for what we have been blessed with.
But if it all goes away tomorrow, we will still gather to worship the King and not the “things”! Even if the coffee runs out, we will still gather to worship Him! ☕️
I am constantly overcome by joy in my Spirit when I consider where the Lord has brought us.
God is doing something so special at Freedom House and it is not because of the facilities, but it is all because we are seeking for the Holy Spirit to lead us, guide us and direct us!
He has blessed us with people similar to those that we find in Acts 2. People that are hungry. People that are in unity with myself and my wonderful bride as we lead. People that have a true humble desire to grow deeper in God. People that truly know how to fulfill our motto of “Loving People To Jesus”!
My prayer is that every church in America and beyond would be filled with the same moving of the Holy Spirit we are experiencing here and that their main focus would always remain on Christ and not on the coffee in the foyer!
