As we enter this blessed season, let us remember the quiet, ongoing needs of our beloved churches, convents, and monasteries. These holy places sustain us with prayer each day and we, in turn, can support them with simple acts of love.

The next time you are out shopping, consider offering a small gift to your parish or a nearby monastery:

For churches that keep oil lamps (kandili) burning: Extra Virgin Olive Oil is always needed.

For communities that celebrate the Divine Liturgy regularly: Nama (altar wine) is a continual necessity.

Check in regularly with your parish/monastery and ask what is needed. You can always provide a monetary donatation to the Philoptoxos as well. May our offerings, however small, be made with joy and gratitude to God 🙏☦️
