Dear Union Presbyterian Church Family,
Today is my official last day as your pastor. Thank you for over sixteen years of ministry together, for a celebratory and meaningful send-off in worship on August 16, and for these past two weeks of vacation. I was able to clear out my office and enjoy a few days in a cabin with friends in Wisconsin.
I handed my office and sanctuary keys to Kaci this morning. I am thankful for her, and for Kathy, as my coworkers. It takes special skills to manage a church and track down clergy; both Kathy and Kaci have these skills in abundance. I’m also thankful for John and Todd as treasurers, for Sara, Katha, and Jonathan as choir directors, for Bob and Jean and John as custodians, and for Kate as (volunteer) session clerk. These good people, two of whom have passed from us into eternal glory, made for a pleasant and productive place to work.
I can’t be more pleased that Kaci will soon hand these keys over to Rev. Trish Reedstrom. As our website describes her, “Rev. Trish Reedstrom is a pastor ordained in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). She began her ministry serving as intern/interim pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Peter before calls to Christ the King Lutheran Church in Mankato and Messiah Lutheran Church in North Mankato. She’s been doing interim ministry since 2023, serving at First Lutheran Church in Albert Lea and Trinity Lutheran Church in New Richland. Prior to that, she worked as a social worker and social work supervisor with a variety of populations, including 19 years at Blue Earth County Human Services and six years with the state of Minnesota.” I’ve known Pastor Trish as a colleague for many years and have always admired her kindness and professionalism. You are in good hands.
May God’s grace and peace be upon you all,
Rev. Andrew Davis
