Saint Francis in the Redwoods Episcopal Church, at the corner of Main Street and Commercial in Willits, will celebrate Christmas with a family service on Christmas Eve at 4:00 pm. There will be readings, prayers, carols to sing, and a celebration of Holy Communion. Here is another topical prayer from the national Episcopal Church:

For Every Child Born Among Us
God of justice, your love and mercy know no boundaries and make no exceptions. We ask for your compassion in the United States, as children born to noncitizen parents now face fear and uncertainty. You call us to welcome, for your kingdom is one of radical inclusion, lasting belonging, and perfect peace. Make us a people who protect the vulnerable, love the stranger, and welcome the sojourner in our land. Your Holy Spirit crosses every border and barrier. Teach us to see beyond the walls we build, that we may live in the freedom of your reconciling love; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

Today, Juneteenth, we offer this prayer from the Episcopal Diocese of Missouri and join with all those who celebrate this day, commemorating the end of slavery in the United States.

Holy and righteous God, you created us in your image. Grant us grace to contend fearlessly against evil and to make no peace with oppression. Help us, like those of generations before us, resist the evil of slavery and human bo***ge in any form and any manner of oppression. Help us to use our freedoms to bring justice among people and nations everywhere, to the glory of your Holy name through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
