This morning, Men in Mission was grateful to welcome John Harper from Eckert Youth Homes in Williston. John shared about Eckert's work providing a structured, nurturing environment for young people through residential and outpatient treatment programs, helping shape lives and build futures right here in our community. Thank you, John, for helping us better understand this important ministry and for the meaningful conversation. We are blessed by the many organizations working to care for and support youth and families across western North Dakota.

First Lutheran was honored to host Great Plains Food Bank for a Lunch & Learn focused on addressing hunger across North Dakota. We were reminded that food insecurity affects individuals and families in every corner of our state, including communities here in western North Dakota, and that ending hunger requires partnerships between organizations, congregations, volunteers, and generous supporters.

A special thank you to Marcia, Grace, Ann, and Bill for helping us better understand both the challenges and the opportunities before us. We are grateful for the important work of Great Plains Food Bank and for all those who give, volunteer, advocate, and serve so that our neighbors can have reliable access to nutritious food.

Together, we can make a difference in the fight against hunger.

On August 29, 2026, rostered and lay leaders from across the church, diverse guests of several denominations, and ELCA Presiding Bishop Yehiel Curry gathered at St. John Lutheran in Dickinson, ND, to celebrate the installation of Western North Dakota Synod Bishop Lisa Lewton.

We join our siblings in Christ in offering our deep gratitude, prayers, and joy as Bishop Lewton steps into this new chapter of leadership. May God bless her ministry and the entire synod as we walk together in faith, hope, and service!
