Event tonight canceled!

Welp, we are under a Severe Weather Advisory. It’s going to be a chilly one out there today. Here’s a note from us regarding our favorite event of the season:

Due to extreme temperatures and concerns for the safety of our volunteers and community, the 2025 Holiday Stroll is cancelled.

We know this event is a beloved tradition, and we’re disappointed to miss celebrating with you this year. Thank you for your understanding and continued support. We’ll share updates about future events as they become available. 💛

We appreciate all the love. Stay warm out there folks.

📖 Tuesday 8/12: The Gift of the Kingdom
Reading: Luke 12:32-34

Reflection:
"Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom." These words lift the burden of striving from our shoulders. God’s kingdom is not something we earn through our own efforts; it is a gift given with joy. You belong to Him—not because of what you’ve done, but because of His grace. This truth transforms our service from obligation to gratitude, from fear to joy.

Response:
Today, rest in the reality that you are part of God’s “little flock,” fully loved and cared for by the Good Shepherd. Let that assurance shape the way you live and interact with others. Share this good news with someone who may be weary from trying to earn God’s favor.

Prayer:
Father, thank You for the priceless gift of Your kingdom. Help me to live in the joy and freedom that comes from knowing I am Yours. Free my heart from fear and striving, and fill it with gratitude. Make me eager to share Your grace with others today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

WOUNDS THAT HEAL
Not all wounds are bad. A skilled surgeon cuts in order to heal. In the same way, the words of Jesus sometimes pierce our hearts—but always to bring us life.

This 8-week series will explore some of Jesus’ hardest teachings—words that may unsettle us, yet lead to grace, peace, and true healing.

🗓 Sundays, August 17 – October 5
⏰ Worship at 9:00 & 11:00 AM
📍 Our Redeemer’s Lutheran, Williston ND

Come hear the voice of the Great Physician who heals our souls.

📖 Monday 8/11: Trusting in God's Provision
Reading: Luke 12:22–31

Reflection:
Jesus invites us to release our grip on worry and rest in the care of our Heavenly Father. If God feeds the birds and clothes the lilies in splendor, how much more will He care for you? Worry often clouds our vision, causing us to forget His past faithfulness. Trust grows when we shift our focus from scarcity to His abundant care.

Response:
Identify one area of your life where anxiety has been stealing your peace. Write it down and pray over it today, giving it entirely to God. Then, watch for His fingerprints — small but undeniable signs of His provision already at work.

Prayer:
Heavenly Father, You know my needs before I speak them. Forgive me for the times I have allowed worry to overshadow my trust in You. Teach me to rest in Your promises and to seek Your kingdom first, confident that You will provide all I need. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

📖 Tuesday 8/5: Contentment in Christ
Reading: 1 Timothy 6:6-12; Philippians 4:11-13

Reflect:
Our culture constantly whispers, “You need more to be happy.” Yet Paul offers a different perspective: “Godliness with contentment is great gain.” This contentment isn’t about settling for less—it’s about finding peace in Christ that is greater than anything the world can give.

Paul had learned to be content in every circumstance—whether in plenty or in need—because his satisfaction came from Christ alone. This kind of contentment is rooted in trust: believing that God will provide what we need and that His presence is enough.

Respond:
• Practice gratitude today—name three blessings you already have.
• Ask yourself: Where have I been chasing fulfillment apart from Christ?
• Ask the Holy Spirit to shift your heart toward satisfaction in Him alone.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for being my true source of contentment. Guard my heart from the lie that I need more than You to be fulfilled. Teach me to rest in Your provision, to rejoice in what I have, and to trust that You are enough for every season of my life. In Your holy name. Amen.
