●Point System
The Knights of Columbus will be offering a Grand Prize Trophy and
money for the team with the highest point total of the cooking
categories.
1 point for each category entered, maximum of 11 points (additional
points for winners of each category)
Brisket: 1st place - 5 points, 2nd place - 3 points, 3rd place - 2 points
- Ribs: 1st place - 3 points, 2nd place - 2 points, 3rd place - 1 point
- Chicken: 1st place - 3 points, 2nd place - 2 points, 3rd place - 1 point
- Pulled Pork: 1st place - 3 points, 2nd place - 2 points, 3rd place - 1
point
- Beans: 1st place - 3 points, 2nd place - 2 points, 3rd place - 1 point
- Gumbo: 1st place - 3 points, 2nd place - 2 points, 3rd place - 1 point
- Open Anything: 1st place - 2 points, 2nd place - 1 point
- Open Dessert: 1st place - 2 points, 2nd place - 1 point

Team with the most points wins $300 cash & trophy
●Rules and Regulations
*Entry and Payment*:
- Entry form must be accompanied by a minimum of $100 entry fee
- Phone requests will not be considered
- Make checks payable to: Knights of Columbus #5921
- Mail checks to: Tom Rozier or Ron Carson
*Check-in and Setup*:
- Contestants may begin checking in at 7:00 AM, Friday, September
20, 2024
- Check-in no later than 9:00 PM, Friday, September 20, 2024
- Setup must be completed by 7:00 PM, Friday, September 20, 2024
- *Cooking and Safety*:
- All cooking must be done on-site
- No pre-seasoned entry meats will be allowed
- No electric or gas cooking will be allowed (except for Chili and
Beans)
- Fire must be wood substances
- No open ground fires or digging of cooking holes will be permitted
- *Sanitation and Cleanliness*:
- Team members must prepare their entries in a sanitary manner
- Unsanitary conditions will be considered cause for disqualification
- Teams must keep their area clean, including final departure cleanup
- *Conduct and Behavior*:
- Each chief cook is responsible for the conduct of their team
members and guests
- No alcoholic beverages will be distributed to the general public
(especially minors)
- No loud music after midnight
