The First Congregational Church of Willimantic was established in January of 1828 in Willimantic Falls, Connecticut. For almost 200 years our church has been part of the Willimantic community and we continue on today! We are member’s of the United Church of Christ (UCC) and the Southern New England Conference. Our

church is open to all who wish to learn about the christian faith. To promote this belief, we’ve become partners in the UCCs “God is Still Speaking” and “O&A” initiatives and their message of acceptance. Our house of worship is handicapped accessible, to be sure that all can enter. Other ways we keep our church viable is through mission and outreach. We support local programs, such as WAIM, the CT Food Share Mobile Food Pantry and the Interfaith Sewing and Service Group, and larger efforts as well. We welcome the community into our church for events including special concerts or performances and various fairs and festivals. We also participate in community events, such as a fried dough booth at the Third Thursday Street Festivals. While our congregation learns about faith together, we also enjoy times of fellowship and fun. Talking after church, family activity nights or picnics at Camp Wabbaquassett bind us together as a church family. We welcome you to visit our church, be it for worship service or one of our events, and thank you for learning more about us!
