Deepest Condolences and Prayers on the passing of Rev. Margaret R. E. Lawson

Beloved NEAC Family,

It is with profound sorrow, we announce the transition of Rev. Margaret R.E. Lawson, a trailblazing leader, faithful servant of God, and beloved pastor who has entered into eternal glory.

Rev. Lawson’s legacy is deeply woven into the fabric of our Zion connection. After faithfully serving as pastor of Green Memorial A. M. E. Zion Church for ten years, she made history as the first woman appointed Presiding Elder of the Boston District. With grace, strength, and unwavering faith, she broke barriers while leading with compassion, wisdom, and an unshakable commitment to Christ and His Church. Her life and ministry touched countless lives, and her influence will continue to be felt for generations to come.

As we mourn this tremendous loss, we ask that you keep her family, loved ones, colleagues in ministry, and all who were blessed by her leadership and service in your prayers. Homegoing service arrangements will be shared as they become available.
