The Church (the believers) is the Church. When we go to church (the building) we are going for the express purpose of worshiping Jesus Christ. As the Church, of the many responsibilities we may hold individually, (as parents, children, employees, caregivers, doctors, lawyers, policeman, firefighters, pastors, athletes, teachers, politicians, bus drivers, truck drivers, janitors, waste management, entrepreneurs etc.) of our individual responsibilities in this temporal world outweighs our responsibilities towards our eternity with Jesus Christ. Yes, we should vote in our local, state and federal elections BUT we should turn the church (or the Church) into political think tanks for any party or open the church to the campaign trail of local candidates. There are town halls and other places for that the church. We shouldn't allow the church to become a movie theater or a nightclub, or a gym or a grocery store. Although we may have responsibilities to do many things for ourselves and for our community, we must remember that the Church is the Church and when we go to church, it should be for the express purpose of worshiping our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
