THANK YOU FOR A WONDERFUL HOMECOMING! ⛪

What a wonderful day we shared as we celebrated the 103rd Annual Homecoming of Williamston First Pentecostal Holiness Church!

We want to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who helped make our 2026 Homecoming such a wonderful success!

To everyone who attended, invited family and friends, helped prepare our facilities, decorated, prepared food, served, or worked behind the scenes in any capacity — THANK YOU! Your love, dedication, and willingness to serve helped make this special occasion one to remember.

A special thank you to Livin’ Legacy for blessing us with wonderful music and to Pastor Aaron Leonard for delivering our Homecoming message.

As we reflected on this year’s theme, “Honoring Our Heritage,” we were reminded of the faithfulness of God throughout the generations. We are grateful for those who came before us, the sacrifices they made, and the foundation of faith upon which our church continues to stand.

While Homecoming is a special day of celebration, we want you to know that you are welcome at Williamston First Church EVERY week! Whether you’ve been attending for years, haven’t visited in a while, or are looking for a church to call home, there’s a place for you here!

DON’T LET THE THREAT OF RAIN KEEP YOU FROM ATTENDING HOMECOMING! ⛪

NEED A RIDE? LET US KNOW!

As we prepare to celebrate our 103rd Annual Homecoming this Sunday at Williamston First Church, we know the forecast is calling for the possibility of rainy weather. But we don’t want the threat of rain to keep anyone from joining us for this special day!

❤️ If you are elderly, have difficulty traveling, or are simply in need of safe transportation to Homecoming because of concerns about the weather, PLEASE LET US KNOW!

We want to do everything we reasonably can to help arrange for someone to assist you with transportation so you can safely attend and enjoy this wonderful time of worship, fellowship, and celebration!

Our theme this year is “Honoring Our Heritage,” and what better way to honor that heritage than by making sure those who have faithfully helped build and support this church through the years have the opportunity to celebrate with us!

If you or someone you know needs transportation assistance, please reach out to us as soon as possible so we can do our best to make arrangements.

A little rain shouldn’t keep us from gathering together to celebrate God’s faithfulness!

GRACE WILL ALWAYS BE GREATER THAN SIN! 🙌

There are moments when the enemy would love nothing more than to convince us that we have gone too far, failed too many times, or made too many mistakes for God to ever use us again. But the message of the Gospel says something entirely different:

Grace is greater.

As Barbara Huffman so beautifully wrote in the song made popular by The Hoppers, “Grace will always be greater than sin.”

Greater than the mistakes we wish we could undo. Greater than the failures we would rather forget. Greater than the shame we have carried and the past the enemy keeps trying to bring back up.

The Bible reminds us:

“But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound.” — Romans 5:20 KJV

What a promise! God’s grace doesn’t excuse sin—it overcomes it. At Calvary, Jesus paid a price we could never pay and offered forgiveness we could never earn.

Maybe you need that reminder today. Your past does not have the final word. Your failure does not have the final word. Your sin does not have the final word.

JESUS DOES.

And because of the cross, there is mercy for the guilty, forgiveness for the fallen, restoration for the broken, and hope for anyone willing to come to Him.

Whatever yesterday looked like, never forget:

Today, we pause to remember the life and legacy of longtime televangelist and Christian broadcaster, Jim Bakker.

For more than six decades, Jim Bakker was a familiar voice in Christian television and was among the early pioneers who helped use the power of media to carry the message of the Gospel into homes across America and around the world through programs such as “Campmeeting USA” and “The PTL Club”.

Pastor Brian Rogers perhaps said it best:

“He was one of the early pioneers of Christian television and spent many years sharing the Gospel through media.

I know there will be people who bring up his past. But, I am reminded of something I am so thankful for. God’s GRACE is GREATER than our past.

None of us are perfect. We have all made mistakes, and we all need the mercy and forgiveness of Jesus. I am thankful we serve a God who forgives, restores, and gives us another chance.

I believe Jim’s reward in heaven is great. May the Lord comfort his family, give them peace, and surround them with His presence during this difficult time.

Thank God for His amazing grace.”

Pastor Leonard joins Pastor Rogers in this profound reflection on the life of Jim Bakker and extends his heartfelt condolences and prayers to the entire Bakker family.

Jim Bakker’s life reminds us of one of the greatest truths of the Gospel: our failures do not have to be the final chapter of our story.

The world may remember our mistakes, but God specializes in redemption. Where man sees failure, God still sees someone worth restoring. Where others may point to yesterday, the grace of Jesus Christ points us toward forgiveness, restoration, and a new beginning.

None of us stands before God because we lived a perfect life. We stand because of His mercy, His forgiveness, and His amazing grace.

May we keep the Bakker family in our prayers in the days ahead, asking the Lord to surround them with His comfort, strength, and peace.

It’s homecoming week at WFPHC!

Be in prayer this week for our annual church-wide Homecoming this Sunday, October 11th!

We will not be having Sunday School this week as we will begin our Homecoming service with our Special Guest Livin’ Legacy at 9:30am followed by a Homecoming message by Pastor Aaron Leonard!

Bring the entire family as this years theme is “Honoring Our Heritage”.

Following our Homecoming service we will have lunch at the Family Life Center!

There’s a place for you and your family and friends this week at WFPHC! We can’t wait to worship with you!
