After a week with no service, we look forward to being together again as a beloved community this coming Sunday, August 30. We will benefit from a program called Moral Dilemmas in the World. Refreshments follow the service.

Please join us on Sunday, when we meet in our usual spot in the Fellowship Hall. It will be good to be together with everyone as we draw ever closer to the end of summer. Whether transitioning into fall is a blessing or a curse is up to you to decide!

Even though I tend not to be an inveterate worrier, I am looking forward to what I can learn from our program on this coming Sunday, August 16, called Existential Angst, and I feel sure we will all benefit from its content and our discussion.

Looking ahead, we will NOT be meeting on the following Sunday, August 23.

Our time together on Sunday mornings is always very special and treasured, and we miss those who are not able to be with us.

After sharing thoughts about spirituality in general at our last service, we now look forward to focusing on the spirituality of one specific person, Thomas Merton, when we gather this coming Sunday, August 9. We will learn more about and discuss the spirituality of this extraordinary contemplative theologian, mystic, poet, and social activist.

I hope you will be a part of our community on Sunday. We will meet, as usual, at 10:45 am. Refreshments follow the service.

I look forward to being together in the fellowship hall of First Church of Christ (Disciples) for this Sunday's service, July 26, 2026. On the last page of our UU “Orders of Service” booklet that we use on Sundays, we find not only the seven principles of the Unitarian Universalist Association, but also sources: “the living tradition that we share is drawn from many sources,” the booklet says. Of the six sources noted, four contain the word “spirit” or “spiritual.”

What is spirituality? What does it mean for a person to be spiritual? Is it related to being religious? To being ethical? In order to be fully human, must a person be spiritual? These are some of the questions we may want to consider on Sunday.

This weekend, we will be together again with a Sunday service at 10:45 AM. We will enjoy a program about self-care, and who doesn’t need that? Following the service we will also be able to mingle during refreshments.

We will have our regular service this Sunday, June 28th, at which time we will discuss “Safeguarding Democracy.” I hope you’ll join us for this important topic.

Coffee hour follows the service. We look forward to breaking bread together as we nourish our spiritual natures.

We will hold our regular 10:45 am service this Sunday, June 21st. During the service, will discuss the topic, "What We Collect." In addition to exploring the meaning we derive from our diverse interests, we hope that folks will "show-and-tell" something about your collection by bringing a sample.

As the month of May ends, there is much happening, not the least of which is our regular service on Sunday, May 31st. We will feature an engaging program called "The Science of Mind and Its Principles" in which we will gain insight into the Science of Mind® teaching. One of our members is an ordained minister with the Science of Mind philosophy and will share the similarities and differences between Science of Mind and Unitarian Universalism. We will get to know some of its key features and why this teaching appeals to many. Refreshments follow the service.

Sunday, May 24th is our regular service at 10:45 am. Bill will lead us in the annual Flower Ceremony, for which he asks that each person bring a flower--wild or cultivated. Don't worry if you cannot come up with one; we can share. Refreshments follow the service.

We look forward to warm weather and to warm community. This Sunday, our program is called "People and Their Consciences." We will discuss how and why World War II ended. Refreshments follow the service.
