Yesterday, one of the patriarchs of our house finished his race.
Pastor Don Morrow went home to be with Jesus at the age of 87 a year over being diagnosed with cancer. While we grieve his passing, we rejoice knowing that today he is home, whole, and healed in the presence of Jesus.
Pastor Don was the father of our Lead Pastor, Mark Morrow, but to CrossWalk, he was the grandfather of our house.
He was a voice of wisdom to our pastors and staff, a missions partner, and a living example of what it looks like to follow Jesus for a lifetime.
And he finished strong.
At 82 years old, when many would have been slowing down, Pastor Don said YES to another call from God. He moved to a village in Bulgaria, where he spent the final five years of his life ministering to the Muslim community and helping establish a retreat center to serve and strengthen Bulgarian pastors.
82 years old, and still saying yes to Jesus.
That is the legacy Pastor Don leaves with us: a life of faithfulness to the very end.
We grieve alongside Pastor Mark, Pastor Pam, and the entire Morrow family, but we grieve with hope. The man who spent his life serving Jesus is now face to face with the One he served.
Pastor Don, thank you for showing us how to run our race and finish strong.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.”
