Pastor Rascal’s Prayer for Today

Dear Heavenly Father,

It is so easy for us to get all caught up in our daily routine and take our eyes off of the only thing in life that really matters.

Hebrews 12 says: “let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith”

Help us to always focus first and foremost on You, on our service to You, and on our heavenly home, before we focus on anything in this temporal world.

In Jesus name, amen

Pastor Rascal’s Prayer for Today

Dear Heavenly Father,

Satan has the population today all wrapped up in the things of this world, the hear and now, the temporary rather that the eternal, the visible rather than the spiritual.

Colossians 3: 1 - 4 says: “ Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.”

And 2 Corinthians 4: 18 says: “So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”

Help us to strengthen our eternal faith each day, so that it is strong enough to overcome the earthly weakening of our humanity.

As we humbly come to Your house today, prepare our hearts, open our ears, and give our minds understanding. May our obedience to gather, our joining together in worship and our willingness to listen intently to the message You give us today not only enrich our lives, but also give You the honor You deserve.

Pastor Rascal’s Prayer for Today

Dear Heavenly Father,

As we see so many today who chose to hang around the wrong crowd of people, help us to have discernment when it comes to our friends, colleagues, and yes, sometimes even our own biological family and our church family.

Proverbs 13: 20 says: “Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm”

And 1 Corinthians 2: 14 says: “The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit.”

May we rely each day on Your wisdom rather our earthly wisdom when it come to who we choose to associate with.

Pastor Rascal’s Prayer for Today

Dear Heavenly Father,

In today’s world, Satan is like a kid running around with scissors. He is hurriedly doing as much damage as he possibly can, because knows his time is about up.

1 Peter 5: 8 & 9 says: “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith”

Help us to be on guard, and give us spiritual discernment so that we are not drawn into his trap. May we strive to honor You with enduring faith.
