Wayne Jarvis was and still is an inspiration for us all. His favorite thing to remind us all was, "Little is much, if God is in it." He lived by that. It was very evident that he was dedicated to his service for the Lord, his family, and his friends. That is something that can be hard to find these days, but it came in abundance with Wayne. He worked hard to help get West End Baptist Church established and built for the glory of God. Once the doors were opened, he spent countless hours working at the church to keep it looking its best inside and out. He was so proud to call West End his home and served many years as a deacon, helping to lead the church in a direction the Lord would be pleased. We are thankful to have known and loved Wayne and will miss him here, but we look forward to that glad reunion day.
1 Corinthians 15:55-58 KJV
O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
Something that comes to mind is that every time that we went to visit Wayne, he would sing "Jesus Loves Me." His memory and body may have been failing him, but he never lost his hope in Jesus. Wayne would want you to have that peace, and he would want you to know that the best decision you can make is to put your faith and trust in Jesus.
