Worship Preparation 6.14.26

Our message for Sunday June 14 is entitled, "Grace to be Sent" from Romans 1:1-7. This text fits in our series, "More Grace: How God's Interventions Make it Possible to Follow Him," as it also connects to the VBS theme.

For VBS, we will be going to Rome with Paul. This sermon also sets up a fall series where we will likely be going through Romans verse by verse on Wednesday nights. In preparation for Sunday, read Romans 1:1-7 several times. Read all of Romans 1. Reflect on Paul's introduction of the gospel in the first seven verses integrates with many of the verses you know from Romans (3:23; 5:8; 6:23; 10:9-10, 13; 12:1-2).

Pray that we will grow in our understanding and practice of the gospel. Invite someone to worship with you this Sunday.

Church family,

Summer is here! The next few weeks are significant for our students and children. Our students will be at camp. Pray for them to experience God and for those who don't know Jesus.

Remember to register your children for VBS and consider registering to serve at VBS. Pray for our leaders, volunteers, and especially for the children who don't yet know Jesus. I believe the next couple of weeks for many of our children, students, and adults will provide opportunities for divine appointments.

We should anticipate the appointments ahead of us. Let's make the most of this summer.

The annual meetings of the Southern Baptist Convention can have crazy uncles and cantankerous messengers. While this year's meeting was largely uneventful, here are six of my observations. Ultimately, at our best, Southern Baptists believe and proclaim the gospel as the only solution to lostness and send missionaries to the nations. On Wednesday June 24, I will give a full report of the SBC Annual Meeting during our Adult Bible Study time (6:15 PM).
