SNSM Staff participated in CPR and AED Training in preparation for the upcoming school year. All staff is now certified for the next 2 years. A big thank you to the Wilkes-Barre Fire Department for providing the training! It was hands-on and extremely informative.

For our Monday Memories, we are reflecting on the awesome year our kindergartners had this past year. From Teddy Bear picnics to trips around the Wyoming Valley, our students were given the best experiences! They had so many hands on opportunities to learn much more than their ABCs and 123s, including critical thinking, problem solving, creativity, cooperation, and collaboration. They participated in our school masses, learning about our faith while they live it. They learned to read and write and what it means to be a Crescent. Kindergarten is a very important step of a child’s education, and we are so proud to get our students started on the right foot. For this Throwback Thursday, we are looking all the way back over the past school year in PK3 and PK4! SNSM is currently enrolling PK students in both classes and we are so proud to show off what our students do.

In PK at SNSM, relationships are the primary focus. Students are loved and cared for by teachers and aides, and taught how to navigate social situations to develop friendships with one another. Because they feel safe and secure, they are able to learn so much more in the most developmentally appropriate way. These kids explore, discover, collaborate, draw, paint, write, problem solve, sing, dance, run, and play while learning letters, numbers, prayers, and Catholic foundations. In PK at SNSM, creativity is encouraged, communication is supported, and children are loved.
