Jesus Christ, The Pre-Eminent One. Importance and influence have personal significance for everyone. How we deal with it may differ from person to person, but we all want to be heard and feel we have influence on others. The influence we really need to live under is the Lord God’s, and the Bible has much to tell us about His relationship to us and influence over us. Who we live for has present and eternal consequences.

Jesus Christ, The Living One. Many people have done notable things to improve the living conditions of mankind. Health improvements, better living conditions and improved working conditions have increased the life span of most of the people of the world. There is, however, only one thing that can ultimately affect every human life in every part of its existence, and that is the person of the resurrected Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He is the living One though whom we experience the forgiveness of sin. Jesus Christ is the living stone, the living way and the living hope.

Jesus Christ, Savior. The proper treatment of a medical issues calls for the right diagnosis. Then the right treatment is necessary to bring about healing and health. As human beings we are suffering the results of our separation from and disobedience to God. The only treatment for the results of those issues is in the person of the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the payment for our disobedience. He is the giver of forgiveness. Jesus Christ has made the way for your forgiveness and eternal life, and today he is calling you to entrust your life to him.

Jesus Christ, Exalted Lord. Humans go through life working to make things better for themselves. We like the conveniences that make life easier. Jesus, on the other hand, came into this world knowing what it would cost him both in commitment to his Father’s will and to human pain! Jesus Christ is the only way of salvation, the forgiveness of your sin, your right standing before God.

The Lordship of Jesus Christ. “... Christ died and returned to life so that he might be the Lord of both the dead and the living.” (Romans 14:9). There are many important things to be learned from the words of the Bible, things that are important to ourselves, our families and our world – but there is nothing more important in every time and place, then preaching, the verbal declaration of the Lordship of Jesus Christ, over all things physical and spiritual. Jesus Christ is calling to each of us today to make him Lord of our lives, the center and purpose of our lives.

Jesus Christ, The Resurrected Lord. The resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead is a pivotal point of Christian theology and faith. It separates Christianity from every other religion and philosophy of life, and it makes or breaks the reality of who Jesus Christ is and all he said and did. The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the work of the Godhead (KJV - Acts 17:29; Romans 1:20; Colossians 2:9) for the good of all humanity.

A Dearly Bought Freedom. The Declaration of Independence was not about the overthrow of a government, but the realization of self-government. Not all the Founding Father’s were Christians, nor did they all hold to the testimony of Jesus Christ, but it is evident from history that they knew well and supported the Bible and its truths. As we celebrate the 4th of July and the story of American liberty and freedom, let us not forget the freedom from sin, and the spiritual, eternal life that is only found in the person of Jesus Christ.

The Salvation God Provides. When it is all said and done, we will all answer to God for our lives. How and why we lived our lives matters to God. What will you say to God about your life, and what will you say about your relationship to Jesus Christ? The God who created YOU has made a way for your sins to be forgiven, and it all centers in the person of Jesus Christ and your faith relationship in Him. Now is the time to submit your life to Jesus. There is no other SAVIOR from sin.

The Father’s Shoes. Our living patterns are learned in our home from our parents. We may develop those living patterns along different pathways, but we learn the basics of life in our homes, from our parents. God, our Creator and heavenly Father, wants to help us develop our lives along his patterns, which we see in the life of Jesus Christ. Spend time reading about Jesus in the Bible books of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.

Jesus Christ, The Atoning Sacrifice. The character of God is many attributes, some easier to understand than others. One his attributes is holiness, which requires payment for our sin. Another of God’s attributes is love, which made a way for our sin to be forgiven. Those attributes came together through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ as the atonement price by God to himself so we could be forgiven and become children of God. Atonement – at one ment with God!

Jesus Christ, The Perfect Sacrifice. To give anything less than your best, is to sacrifice the gift [Steve Prefontaine, American long-distance runner]. People need people, for all kinds of reasons and needs, and sacrifices are made so that we can help and be helped. There is one thing we cannot do for ourselves or others, and that is to adequately deal with sin and sinfulness. In our behalf, Jesus Christ has done that for us as the perfect sacrifice for sin.

Jesus Christ, The Blood Sacrifice. Leviticus 17:14 tells us that, “the life of every creature is in its blood.” Blood is important to mankind and to God, so much so that Jesus Christ, the sinless one, came to shed his own blood for the payment of our sins – life for life. What Jesus suffered, and who he suffered it from, is important to understand as we think of our own lives and our faith in the living God.
