Ascend Student Ministry Ascend is the student ministry of New Community Church in Wildwood, MO. Today’s youth are bombarded by ten thousand voices from pop culture.

Movies, video games, music, twitter, Facebook, friends, and even education are a few examples that influence this generation. All of this can easily divert their attention away from the one who should be the most significant Person in their lives – Jesus Christ. In his letter to the Colossians, Paul gives the only remedy against thinking like the world: to “set your mind on things above.” This is

where the concept of "Ascend" came from for the name of our student ministry at New Community Church. Our desire is that our students might no longer be fascinated with the world but to be captivated with the person and redemptive work of Jesus Christ.
