What a blessed weekend as we celebrated 50 years of God’s grace at Lifegate Baptist Church! This picture was following the Sunday morning service. There were quite a few others who attended Saturday evening and also Sunday afternoon! The fellowship was incomparable!

Dear Friend of Lifegate Baptist Church,

We only have a week and a half before our weekend of celebration for the 50 years that God has given to Lifegate Baptist Church! I hope that you will be able to attend one or all the services during the weekend of July 12th and 13th. Here is a schedule for the two days:

~ Saturday evening at 4:00 P.M. The first service will be with Pastor Kirk Mellen. Pastor Mellen was the assistant pastor here during the 1990s. Following the service, the church will provide pizza from Pizzarelli’s Pizza as well as an ice cream sundae bar.

~ Sunday morning at 10:00 A.M. This is our normal Sunday School hour. I will be speaking during this first Sunday service.

~ Sunday morning at 11:00 A.M. Pastor Burton Squires will be preaching for the morning service. Pastor Squires had the longest tenure of any of our pastors (more than 20 years).

~ Lunch at 12:30 P.M. The church is catering the meal from Sawmill BBQ.

~ Afternoon service at 2:00 P.M. Pastor Dan Deatrick, the church’s founding pastor (and my Dad) will be preaching the afternoon service.

There are a few items of interest of which I want to inform you:
1) There will be special music and a testimony (one from each decade of Lifegate’s history) in each service as well as a memorial gift for each person attending.
2) We have room for almost 100 people to eat in the building. However, should we need more room than that, we have a large tent which will be set up outside with overflow for another few dozen people. We are praying that the weather will be mild (as much as possible for July in St. Louis). The auditorium can seat around 140 people, but we have a video monitor in the fellowship hall on which we will also display the services.
3) It is likely that the parking lot will also be full. We have permission to park at Crestview Middle School (formerly Lafeyette High School). I’m encouraging our church family to park there to save room for guests. However, should the church parking lot be full, we would ask that you park at the school and not the fire department. If you park at the school, you can cross Valley Road at the stoplight instead of having to cross Clayton Road with no stop light; it would be much safer.
4) We would like to take a picture of each individual or family that attends any of the weekend services. We will have a photo arch set up immediately inside the north doors of the building. We hope to be quick with each one so that we don’t crowd up the entry too much. We would also like to get a group photo outside just before lunch.

We are looking forward to this coming celebration! Not only has God been very good to Lifegate over the last 50 years, but good things are happening now and we look forward to all that God will do here in the future!

We are excited to begin Spring Revival Services with Evangelist Will Geiseman and his family today! Today will be the regular service schedule and then we'll have nightly services at 7 p.m., Monday through Thursday. We hope to see you there!

Hello everyone! We are getting full swing into planning for the church's 50th Anniversary Celebration on July 13th! There are a couple of things that I wanted to let you know:

1) We will have services on Saturday (12th) and Sunday (13th). We will have an evening service on Saturday and have Pastor Kirk Mellen preach and then a food and fellowship time to follow. On Sunday morning, Pastor Burton Squires will be preaching the service, and then after lunch for the afternoon service, Pastor Dan Deatrick will be preaching.

2) One of our ladies is preparing a mailing list of previous members and attendees that we may be able to contact. If you would like to be on that list, or know of someone to be on that list, let me know and I will send you her e-mail so that you can send it to her and she can add you to the mailing list. She is also going to produce a slide/video collage or presentation of pictures throughout Lifegate's history. If you have pictures which she could include, again, let me know and I will give you her e-mail address. If you send pictures to her, it would be helpful if you included the year (as close as possible), and the people in the picture.

3) Finally, please spread the word, either in person or on social media!

I am amazed at the amount of work that was accomplished at LBC today! 10 of us replaced all of the old 2X4 fluorescent light fixtures with new LED fixtures throughout the entire building. I figured we could do half in one day, but by about 10:30, it was pretty obvious that we were making good time and would finish all of them! Chic-fil-A for lunch hardly seems a sufficient "thank you" for all the work that these men did! (Mike Halliday, Ray Hair, John Loseke, Gary Dennis, Duane Jelinek, & John, Josiah, Gardner, and Gilead Deatrick) Thank you!!!

Hello everyone! We are planning on a very special Sunday for the church's 50th Anniversary and homecoming on July 13, 2025! This is not an official RSVP, but I need to start collecting numbers so that we can plan appropriately. We will have the regular morning service, dinner on the grounds, and then an afternoon service. Pastor Squires and the first Pastor Deatrick are both planning to be here - those two men cover around 32 years of pastoring this church.

October is our missions emphasis month at Lifegate Baptist Church. We had a great start with Ben Sinclair this past Sunday! I’ve read his book “Missionary Partnership” and corresponded digitally, but was blessed to spend time getting to know him personally and hear him preach!

The church parking lot was re-sealed today. We’re praying that we have a slot of clear weather between now and Sunday to repaint the stripes! The beauty of this “little brown church in the vale” always excites me. (Pastor Deatrick)

It was a wonderful day yesterday celebrating the 49th Anniversary of Lifegate. I didn't get as many pictures as I would have liked, but you are welcome to add more, or send them to me and I can post them.

Next year, Pastor Dan Deatrick and Pastor Burton Squires are planning to be here as we celebrate the 50th. Mark your calendar for July 13, 2025.

Nathan Deatrick preached a tremendous message from Ephesians 3:20-21 on "A Grateful Church" during the A.M. service and then for the afternoon service he traced history from the South Wyaconda Baptist Church (where Pastor Dan Deatrick was saved) all of the way back through about 9 generations of churches and preachers to the preaching of George Whitfield and the Great Awakening. This was a very graphic illustration of 2nd Timothy 2:2, "And the things that thou hast heard of me among any witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teacher others also." Both messages are available on the church website.

For the 51st Anniversary, on July 12th, 2026, Mark Lancaster will be preaching. Bro. Mark is married to Julie (Augustine), who grew up at Lifegate.

Everything is set for the 49th Anniversary Celebration of Lifegate Baptist Church tomorrow! Testimonies, Music, Preaching, Fellowshipping, Eating... It is going to be wonderful day gratefully proclaiming God's faithfulness! We hope you can join us!
