Rahab acted on faith. It is easy to for us to say that we trust God, but sometimes we have to put out a sign to let others know we trust God. Sometimes that sign is to remind ourselves that we trust God. Trusting God does not mean you do things without direction, it means you do what He has directed you to do and trust it is for your good. God has put Pastors in our lives to direct us in the path God has for us. I am thankful to have a Pastor who directs me. If we feel like we don't know God's direction, we have not been listening to the voice God has placed in our lives.

As I was drinking coffee and enjoying the much needed rain, I made the comment that the earth was thirsty. As I began reading, I came across Genesis 2:5. God had not yet watered the earth, but it went on to say because there was no man to till the ground. This made we think and pray that our field is not looked upon as having no one to till the ground. I do not want the Lord not to pour rain out here so that nothing grows, all because of laziness. We need to examine ourselves and be prepared to till the ground where God has placed us for the upcoming rain. Revival does not come if we are not prepared for it. Be prepared. Invite. Pray. Fast. Enjoy this much needed rain.

Last week I challenged you to wake up daily with a grateful heart and to be thankful when you go to bed. I think that this relates to us trying to compare ourselves and our lives to those around us. We can always be able to find something to be grateful for, but sometimes it is difficult because we looking at what our neighbor has and comparing our lives with theirs.

Listening to a podcast they said something about joy. They said that joy is the oxygen in the room. Isn't that the truth! When we have joy in our lives it feels like fresh air. Like we can breath, even when there is so much going on around us.

Psalm 27:6 says: "And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the Lord."

I loved this passage! That we should offer "sacrifices of joy" unto the Lord. When we fill like the enemy has us sounded, its okay, because the scripture says he will lift our head above theirs. It is during this time that we should begin to praise the Lord. Today continue to have a grateful heart! Praise the Lord in the small things!

Last week, I was able to listen to a wonderful woman speak. She encouraged us all to wake up with a grateful heart. She asked us to wake and say thanks to God for something...anything. Whether it be our family, the coffee in the kitchen, or the roof over our head. Anything. THEN...before we go to sleep thank God for something about that day. Again, it can be simple. You can be thankful for the leftovers you had for dinner or the fact that you were able to drink all your goal water. Anything!
When we start opening our heart to being grateful we start see all that the Lord has given us...opening us up to have joy! Psalm 16:11 says "Thou wilt show me the past of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore." When we begin to thank the Lord and praising Him for things, He comes in and inhabits that space. It is in His presence that joy is.
I challenge you to begin your day with a thankful heart and end your day with a thankful heart. It is through this process that you will begin to find joy!

Today I was reading 2 Timothy 2:19. It says, "Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity." This scripture had me thinking of everyone and where many are in there walks with God. As long as our foundation is set on God, we will be okay. We will make it through whatever we are going through. I can't help but be at peace knowing that my foundation is firm. The other part of this scripture is that God KNOWS me! He knows His own children. Make sure your foundation is firmly on the Lord and then find peace that it is.

Robert Frost wrote an infamous poem about "The Road Not Taken." It opens up with "Two roads diverged into a yellow wood." Isn't how we feel at times in life, that we are at a crossroad with a decision to make. I know that I have been there many times and have seen saints there. Should we take this job, should move into this home, should our kids go to this school, or when I was younger should I date this person. Proverbs 3:5 &6 says to "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." Wherever you are in life and what crossroad and choices you are having to make...allow God to direct your path. Frost ends his poem with, "I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference." Do not be afraid to make the hard choice. The next scripture in Proverbs says, "Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil."
God has a directed path for you, listen to what HE wants for you. His path is full of love and protection. His path will not put you in harm's way. His path IS the one less taken.

1 Chronicles 28:20 says: Be strong and of good courage, and do it: fear not, nor be dismayed: for the Lord God, even my God, will be with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee, until thou hast finished all the work for the service of the house of the Lord.

This is an encouraging scripture! Another translation says: “Take charge! Take heart! Don’t be anxious or get discouraged. God, my God, is with you in this; he won’t walk off and leave you in the lurch. He’s at your side until every last detail is completed for conducting the worship of God. You have all the priests and Levites standing ready to pitch in, and skillful craftsmen and artisans of every kind ready to go to work. Both leaders and people are ready. Just say the word.”

I like that the second translation says to "take charge!" This means that we have push everything that is against us back. Right now we have sickness, depression, finances, family life, jobs, and life that is trying to push keep us down. Satan is trying to steal our joy, kill our dreams, and destroy our families. While this is happening, we have to take charge and remember that we do not go through anything alone, we have God. If you are struggling with things today...remember you have God on your side.

Today I was looking at these magnolias. Magnolias are a representation at purity and I started thinking of the purity of God and his love for us. 1 John 4:18 says
“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.” Isn’t that so comforting that God’s pure love for us removes all fear that we feel. Today be reminded that God has a pure love for you!
