I posted a prayer on Emmanuel's Group Page but will also post one here. For those who are not aware, our community was damaged by wildfires this past weekend. It was terribly windy, which helped spread the fires quickly. As far as I know, no one was injured seriously, and no one lost their home, although some lost other buildings, farm equipment, and unharvested crops. We ask for continued prayers for those who suffered loss and for much-needed moisture.
God of all the Universe, we pray for comfort and peace in this time of loss. We thank you for those who risked their health and safety of all the firefighters and volunteers who used their hands to do your work in extinguishing the flames. We pray for those who face rebuilding what was lost. We thank you for the gift of a strong community of believers who we know will journey with us as we move forward. Finally Lord God, we pray for much needed rain. Amen.
