Oh Boy,
God has given us another day to worship Him. I can't wait to see what God has in store for us today.
Come and celebrate with us what God has done in your life this week. The party starts at 11am.😀

“Who is among you that fears the Lord, that obeys the voice of His servant... let him trust in the name of the Lord, and stay upon his God.” - Isaiah 50:10
I have always been amazed at the advice worldly people give to someone who is hurting. “When you get to the end of your rope, tie a knot and hang on!” Can you see someone dangling over a cliff, holding on to a rope, and trying to tie a knot? It takes two hands to do that!
The first thing we need to remember is “don’t demand to understand.” There are some things in life you and I just will never understand. When God allows darkness to overshadow your life, don’t set about lighting your own fire. That’s a recipe for heartache.
Trust that His light will come and wait for it. He will come. Believe it.
There’s someone out there who is hurting today and needs more than a pat answer of encouragement. Give them the light of Christ.

“A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance...” - Proverbs 15:13

There are three things animals don't do that humans do:

Animals don’t blush. Mark Twain once wryly observed, “Man's the only animal who can blush—or needs to.”

Animals don't cry.

And animals don't laugh. This tells me that man, made in the image of God, reflects the character of God. And God is a God of joy.

Laughter is a gift from God. There's nothing wrong with laughter. As a matter of fact, laughter comes innately. You don't have to teach children to laugh; you have to teach children when not to laugh. And if you really have the joy of the Lord in your heart, it's going to show up on your face.

Does your face today reflect the joy of the Lord? Or something else?

Luke 11:34
Are there times in your life when you have sensed yourself growing cold spiritually? Felt the power seeping out of your life and felt that Jesus Christ wasn’t as real as He used to be? In times like this, get alone in a quiet place and begin to give things back to God that you have subtly taken off the altar.
Give Him your physical body and your right to life. Give Him your health, your strength, and your abilities to work and make a living. Give Him your reputation and your children. Give Him your cars, your clothes, your house.
And when you have honestly, earnestly, and sincerely given all to Him, the joy will return to your heart and you will sense your relationship with God restored.

Hebrews 4:15
When something bad happens to us, we may respond with, “What did I do? I must have done something terrible.” Then we examine and re-examine ourselves trying to figure out what we did wrong.
It may be that you have done nothing wrong, but God is simply testing your faith. If we don’t understand this we may get discouraged.
Claim the promises of 1 Peter 1:3-9 for strength in the midst of your trial.

“...in the last days, perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection...having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof.” - 2 Timothy 3:1-5
“Without natural affection” literally means “without family love.” If you claim to be a Christian but dishonor your parents, all you’ve got is a form of godliness. You don’t have the real thing. Faith begins at home. If you can live for Jesus at home, you can live for Jesus anywhere. If you can’t live for Jesus at home, it doesn’t really matter where you try to live for Jesus.
God gave Ten Commandments, but the fifth, “Honor your father and mother,” is the one with a promise: “that it may be well with thee and that thou mayest live long on the earth.” Before God tells us don’t steal, don’t kill, don’t commit adultery, He tells us to honor father and mother. In my estimation, the respect and obedience a child shows his parents is a strong indication of how the child will turn out. Dwight Moody said, “I’ve lived 60 years, and I’ve learned one thing if I’ve learned nothing else. No man or woman who dishonors father or mother ever prospers.”

“And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.” - Ephesians 6:4
Children need encouragement like a plant needs water. They need it over and over again.
And you need to catch them doing something right! Let them know you believe in them. Let your speech affirm them. Be positive. Constantly encourage them.
Encouragement is twice as powerful as praise. Praise says, “You are great because you did something.” Now there’s nothing wrong with praise, but I’m just saying that encouragement is twice as strong as praise. There’s a real difference. Encouragement looks at a child not primarily for what the child achieves, but for who the child is—and says “Thank you. I’m so grateful for you.”
It’s a fine line, but think about it. Catch your children doing something right and let them know through your encouragement that you believe in them.

1 John 5:3

Real love costs. That’s right—there is no “free love,” like you may have thought if you were raised in the ‘60s. Love is a great and grand commitment. Sometimes a young man who seeks his own gratification will say to a young lady, “I love you” as a means of getting something from her. Oh, he loves her all right. He loves her like a man who loves oranges. He takes an orange, cuts a plug out of it, squeezes the sweet juice from it, throws it on the ground like a piece of garbage, wipes his mouth and says, “Man, I love oranges!”

Let me tell you, real love is not that way. Lust lives to get. Real love lives to give.

One of the ways you show the Lord you truly love Him is by keeping His commandments.

“… ‘for I [God] will not go up in the midst of thee [the Israelites]; for thou art a stiff-necked people: lest I consume...

“… ‘for I [God] will not go up in the midst of thee [the Israelites]; for thou art a stiff-necked people: lest I consume thee in the way’. … And he [Moses] said unto Him, ‘If Thy presence go not with me, carry us not up hence.’” - Exodus 33:3,15

What is Moses saying here? He’s saying, “God, if You’re not going, I'm not going.” St. Augustine is attributed with asking this question: “If God were to come to you and say, ‘I’ll give you anything you want. Nothing will be withheld. You can have whatever you want with one exception: you will never see My face,’ would you take that proposition?” He then said, “If a chill went over your soul when you heard that phrase, ‘You will never see my face,’ thank God for that chill.”

God offered to send the Israelites along their way with the protection of an angel. He promised them victory in the Promised Land. But Moses said: “I don’t want Canaan without you. I don’t want an angel to guide us. I don’t want victory. I don’t want milk and honey. I want you, God.”

Is there anything today you want more than God’s presence? Think carefully. If so, then that thing—whatever or whomever it is—is an idol.
