Coming soon to a parish near you! Our 2026-2027 seminarian posters have arrived! Our generous Knights of Columbus will be packing and delivering them in the coming days. Please grab a copy of the poster and prayer card from your parish and be sure to keep these men in prayer as they discern the priesthood.

Each semester Bishop Edward Malesic makes it a priority to set aside dedicated time to meet personally with each seminary house (Borromeo and Saint Mary) as well as the seminary faculty. Forming our future priests is a communal journey, and these regular gatherings provide a vital space for mentorship, shared prayer, and open dialogue ensuring that everyone remains united in faith and purpose.

We are incredibly grateful for the Bishop’s hands-on leadership, guidance, and deep pastoral care for those who will one day shepherd our parishes. Please join us in keeping our Bishop, faculty, and seminarians in your prayers this semester!

After petitioning Bishop Malesic, the men of Configuration I have formally taken the next step in their vocation by being admitted as candidates for Holy Orders. We celebrate this significant milestone which marks a profound step forward in their discernment and formation for the priesthood. And we continue to pray for them as they are formed into the men God is calling them to be.

At our first Thursday Night Mass of the academic year the men of Configuration III were commissioned and sent forth on their year of internship. This year of formation will be hands on as they are immersed in parish life and learn what it takes to minister to and operate a parish. Our prayers are with our brothers as they go forth in service.

After move-in, pre-semester retreats, orientation, and catching up, the new formation year is under way and the theme of the year, fraternitas, is already taking root! As the seminarians walk in brotherhood through this next year we invite you to keep them in prayer.

“Many think to be a priest is the height of the Christian life. It isn’t. To be a saint is the height. So wherever the Lord calls you, whether the priesthood, diaconate, religious life, married, or dedicated single life, your yes matters…Know of my prayers for you as you seek the Lord’s will for your life.” -Bishop Malesic to BBQ Attendees

Thanking God for a beautiful evening for our BBQ with the Bishops for Discerners. Guys from across the diocese joined in prayer and fellowship with Bishop Edward Malesic, priests and seminarians, and others who are discerning. Praying for those who are opening their hearts to the Lord’s call in their life!

“St. John Vianney said ‘The priesthood is the love of the heart of Jesus’…Allow seminary and this time of discernment to develop your heart to love God and His people…Your heart must beat with the heart of Jesus for the salvation of souls.”
-Excerpt from Bishop Malesic’s homily to the incoming seminarians.

On this feast of St. John Vianney, Bishop Edward Malesic invited the 12 men who will be entering seminary in the fall to his residence for Mass and lunch.

Please keep these new men in prayer as they begin their seminary journey. Please also pray for our returning seminarians as they begin a new formation year in the coming weeks. St. John Vianney, pray for our priests and seminarians!

Thank you to everyone who made the Borromeo Challenge Scholarship Golf Outing a massive success! Through the generosity of our sponsors and golfers and the hard work of our volunteers, we raised crucial room and board scholarship funds for our first-year seminarians discerning the priesthood. With the rising costs of college education the support from this event helps to alleviate some of the financial burden that may keep men from even trying seminary.

We are always moved by the way our diocese steps up to support vocations and this year’s outing was no exception! We had a wonderful time on the links and we look forward to next year!
