At our first Thursday Night Mass of the academic year the men of Configuration III were commissioned and sent forth on their year of internship. This year of formation will be hands on as they are immersed in parish life and learn what it takes to minister to and operate a parish. “St. John Vianney said ‘The priesthood is the love of the heart of Jesus’…Allow seminary and this time of discernment to develop your heart to love God and His people…Your heart must beat with the heart of Jesus for the salvation of souls.”
-Excerpt from Bishop Malesic’s homily to the incoming seminarians.

On this feast of St. John Vianney, Bishop Edward Malesic invited the 12 men who will be entering seminary in the fall to his residence for Mass and lunch.

Please keep these new men in prayer as they begin their seminary journey. Please also pray for our returning seminarians as they begin a new formation year in the coming weeks. St. John Vianney, pray for our priests and seminarians!

Thank you to everyone who made the Borromeo Challenge Scholarship Golf Outing a massive success! Through the generosity of our sponsors and golfers and the hard work of our volunteers, we raised crucial room and board scholarship funds for our first-year seminarians discerning the priesthood. With the rising costs of college education the support from this event helps to alleviate some of the financial burden that may keep men from even trying seminary.

We are always moved by the way our diocese steps up to support vocations and this year’s outing was no exception! We had a wonderful time on the links and we look forward to next year!
