God is doing something powerful and transforming through the peace-making work of the cross of Christ.

“For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. (1 Corinthians‬ ‭1‬:‭18)

“For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified. (1 Corinthians‬ ‭2‬:‭2)

The message of the cross where the Savior was crucified absolutely destroys the wisdom of the world. It appears foolish to them. They have no category for it. The crucifixion of the sinless Son of God to pardon those who trust him fundamentally transforms the human heart. If my wicked, rebellious sin debt against perfect holy God can be forgiven, then I cannot hold any sin debt against anyone. The transgression God has forgiven me infinitely outweighs any offense committed against me. I cannot hold someone to a higher standard than what God has forgiven me.

The Lord is doing something in our day through the power Jesus Christ, and him crucified. Here is the wisdom of God shown through the transforming work of the cross seen very publicly in just the last 5 days:

Erika Kirk, concerning the man who assassinated her husband, Charlie Kirk: “I forgive him.”

Tim Allen, after seeing and tasting the forgiveness and grace God poured out on Erika: “I forgive the man who killed my father.”

Forgiveness is given to all who will turn to Christ and trust him. God forgives them, and that transforms their heart to forgive others and be free of the chains of bitterness and hatred. It is possible only in Christ. Turn to Christ and live.
