We are a community of Catholic young adults seeking to be the salt of the earth, and the light of the world in Wichita and her surrounding areas. We seek to grow as disciples of Jesus Christ, while inspiring and equipping other young adults to do the same.

Bishop Carl A. Kemme of the Diocese of Wichita ordained 6 men to the Catholic priesthood on Saturday, May 23, at the Church of the Magdalen, sending them forth on their own “pilgrimages”. For new priests Fr. Peter Bergkamp, Fr. Kyle Demel, Fr. Isaac Hilger, Fr. Jacob McGuire, Fr. Luke Meyerhoff, and Fr. Koby Nguyen, the priesthood will not only be a journey, but should also heighten their respective Christian statuses as foreigners in the world.

“Because of our unique and sometimes challenging relationship to the world – that is, in the world but not of the world – our standards cannot come from the world, not our identity or the manner of our living… Our mind and our hearts must be centered always on the world that is to come; we must ever look to the horizon of our lives and recognize the Lord as our standard-bearer, pointing the way in mission and service.” Bishop Kemme said during his homily. Deo Gratia!

COMING UP with Salt + Light:

🎤 We hope you can make it to our March Theology on Tap on Monday, March 23 in the Alumni Lounge within the Dugan Library at Newman University. Fr. Jarrod Lies will be presenting a riveting topic on "Capitalism, Socialism & Stewardship." Doors will open at 6:30pm with the talk beginning at 7:00.

🌙 We will also be gathering for Outdoor Stations of the Cross at the Spiritual Life Center on Friday, March 27, at 7:00 p.m.

We hope you can join us for these events as Lent is wrapping up! 🙏
